Role of Technology in Education

With the innovation of technology in education, it’s main purpose is to


change how teacher and students gather access, analyze, present and transmit
information. With the use of technology in teacher teachers and students can
achieve a new level of productivity, with it’s power formal education is accessible
anytime and anywhere with a simple click of a button.
As for how it should be used, it should be used with tremendous amount of
care and responsibilities. We all know that the internet is the very source of
information, it’s like a modern tech of a library. However, despite it’s usefulness it
is also home for malicious sites such as phishing, porn, violence, bullying, etc. that
often most of us have an easy access. Thus, children should be guided when they
are using their gadgets and when they are browsing the internet.
There is no really limit to when technology should be used, for as long as
you need it, then access it. That is one of it’s beauty, when you need something or
any information, all you have to do is a get your tool and tap your screen and just
like that you already have it.
All students have different learning styles, which teachers really struggle to
accommodate their needs, with the traditional way of teaching it is really baffling
to cater all their differences, that is why some students learned, others are having a
hard time, because their learning style was not met. But with the introduction of
technology in teaching, it has become easier for teachers to handle such
difficulties. Everyone can benefit this perk regardless of age, gender, social status,
level of abilities, and learning styles. As long as an individual is willing to learn
and willing to be taught then education can be attained.
In the past, teachers used simple visual aids to teach their students, such as
manila paper and the chalkboard. Truth be told, this type of approach consumes a
lot of time and effort thus teachers are often restless and stressed. However, with
the introduction of technology, teaching has become easier, from simple visual aids
to showing pictured and videos using various technologies like tv, laptop, projector
and many others. Because of this, students become more engaged in the classroom
and in their learning and teachers are less stressed and have extra time to spend
with their loved ones.
Technology does not only affect the system of education, it has widely affect
our very own way of life, our everyday life. Everything has been made easier
because of it’s innovation. Transportation, communication, chores, heavy lifting
are just few of the many things that technology has made simple and effortless.
Technology has not been stagnant for what it’s worth it has been advancing
everyday. Because of it’s steady progression, I can see it will give an even more
huge impact on the system of education. Perhaps, in the future everyone will truly
have access to this advancement. Because right now, I observed that only 30 out
of 45 of my students in my previous advisory class have access to it and is very
limited. I just hope in the future poverty will not be a hindrance anymore,
