Facebook was founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg while he was a student at Harvard. It quickly gained popularity among students for its social networking features like profiles, newsfeeds, and sharing photos and updates. Twitter was created in 2006 and allows users to share short messages called tweets. Instagram began as a photo sharing app in 2010 and was later acquired by Facebook. It allows users to share photos and videos with filters and effects. TikTok started in 2016 as a lip-syncing app and became popular for its short music videos. It uses an algorithm to recommend new content to users based on what they watch and engage with. Snapchat, created in 2011, was one of the earliest apps to focus on ephemeral photos and videos

Facebook While studying psychology at Harvard University, Mark  Newsfeed
