Proposal for On-Site Curb Casting

The contractor requests approval to cast curbstone on site using a curbing machine instead of using precast concrete curbstone as specified. This is because using precast curbstone would hamper progress in meeting the target completion date before the rainy season for pavement work on section 5 of the Bole Ring Road RBT to Meskel Sq. Subject: Type A Curb Stone
Dear Sirs,
As you are well aware, the construction of the pavement work for section 5
is advancing to meet the target of completion up to asphalt level before the
starting of the coming rainy season.
To do so, the contractor is endeavoring to speed up the work so far and
currently sub base placing is undergoing.
Regarding Type A curbstone, the boq states to use precast concrete curb
which requires adequate time for production and eventually hamper the
progress in meeting the target.
Hence, we propose to cast the curb at the site using our curbing machine
which extremely enables us to proceed and complete the pavement work
within the expected time.
Please note, the concrete volume of the curb stone indicated in the boq is
almost equal to the proposed one.
Therefore, we request your due consideration and approval to continue as
per our proposal.
