NOTICE

Sirs/Mesdames :

Please take notice that the Court en banc issued a Resolution dated
JANUARY 24, 2012, which reads as follows: cSTHAC

"G.R. No. 181067 (Cecilia Oreña-Drilon, et al. vs. Hon. Ronaldo V.


Puno, et al.) and G.R. No. 181159 (Raoul Esperas, et al. vs. Hon. Eduardo
Ermita, et al.; Pablito V. Sanidad, et al., petitioners-in-intervention) . — The
Court Resolved to:
(a) DIRECT the Process Servicing Unit to SEND ANEW,
together with this resolution, the resolution dated November 15, 2011
intended for Atty. Mario R. Sandiego to the Director of the Legal
Service, Philippine National Police, National Headquarters, Camp
Crame, Quezon City;

(b) NOTE the Compliance and Manifestation dated December


22, 2011 filed by counsel for petitioners in G.R. No. 181067 in
compliance with the resolution of November 15, 2011, stating that as
of December 22, 2011, no criminal complaints or cases arising from the
November 29, 2007 Manila Peninsula incident have been filed against
any of the petitioners and that there have been no developments
relevant to their petition since the filing of their Reply on May 14, 2008;

(c) GRANT the Motion to Admit Manifestation dated January


4, 2012 filed by counsel for petitioners in G.R. No. 181067;

(d) NOTE the aforesaid Manifestation dated January 4, 2012,


stating, among other things, that no cases arising from the November
29, 2007 Manila Peninsula incident have been filed against the said
petitioners;

(e) NOTE and GRANT the Manifestation and Motion dated

December 16, 2011 filed by the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG),
requesting for an extension of twenty (20) days from December 17,
2011, or until January 6, 2012, within which to comply with the
resolution of November 15, 2011;

(f) NOTE and GRANT the Manifestation and Motion dated


January 6, 2012 filed by the OSG, stating that it wrote the public
respondents requesting them to verify the matters inquired in the
resolution of November 15, 2011 but it has not yet received response
from the public respondents, and praying that the public respondents
be granted an additional period of fifteen (15) days from January 6,
2012, or until January 21, 2012, within which to comply with the
resolution of November 15, 2011;

(g) GRANT the Motion dated December 16, 2011 filed by


counsel for petitioners for an extension of five (5) days from December
17, 2011, or until December 22, 2011, within which to comply with the
resolution of November 15, 2011; and

(h) NOTE the Compliance and Manifestation dated December


22, 2011 filed by counsel for petitioners-in-intervention in G.R. No.
181159 pursuant to the resolution of November 15, 2011, stating that
there have been no new or subsequent developments that personally
concerned them and that the issues raised in the petition are
transcendental in nature and should be resolved for the guidance and
understanding of both public respondents and members of media."
