Q1 (a) Derive the dimensional representation for the following fluid properties:
            (i) mass density
            (ii) dynamic viscosity
            (iii) pressure
            (iv) kinematic viscosity
                                                                               (8 marks)
     (b) Determine the weight density, mass density, and specific gravity if 5 liter of oil
         weights 38 N.
                                                                                 (6 marks)
     (c) Pressure gauge Y is to measure the pressure at point X in water flow as shown
in FIGURE Q1(c). If the pressure at Y is 85 kPa, determine the pressure at X,
in kPa and mmHg. Assume all fluids are at 20 oC ( mercury = 133 kN/m3; oil =
         8900 N/m3)
                                                                            (11 marks)

Q2 (a) Define the atmosphere pressure, gauge pressure and absolute pressure. Explain
your answers with the aid of diagrams.
                                                                           (6 marks)
     (b) Tasik Merdeka, a freshwater lake near Bukit Pasir, Batu Pahat, has maximum
depth of 20 m, and the mean atmospheric pressure is 90 kPa. Determine the
absolute pressure in kN/m2 at this maximum depth.
