Funding Request for School Buildings

The Sangguniang Barangay of Bawang, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay passed a resolution requesting that Congressman Sharky Yap Palma allocate funds for the construction of school buildings at Bawang Elementary School. The resolution noted that the elementary school, established in 1915, has buildings over 42 years old that are deteriorating and cannot accommodate the increasing number of students. It requested the construction of 7 new classrooms to replace the dilapidated structures and meet the needs of students from Bawang and nearby barangays. RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONGRESSMAN SHARKY YAP PALMA TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS AT BARANGAY BAWANG, BUUG, ZAMBOANGA
SIBUGAY
WHEREAS, the Constitution provides, “The state shall protect and promote the right of
all citizens to quality Education at all levels, and shall take appropriate steps to make such
education accessible to all”
WHEREAS, the law also provides, “The state shall establish and maintain a system of
free public education in the elementary and high school levels”
WHEREAS, Bawang Elementary School was established in 1915 and has a total land area
of more or less 4 hectares, located at the southern part of the Municipality of Buug, Zamboanga
Sibugay, has 3 school buildings (Bagong Lipunan type 2), more or less 42 years old building,
some parts of the buildings were destroyed by termites.
WHEREAS, there is a need of 7 instructional classrooms of Bawang Elementary School to
cover the existing dilapidated old buildings.
WHEREAS, the School has a vast increasing number of students this school year,
accommodate enrollees from nearby Barangays and from other Barangay of neighboring
Municipality residents are actively participated in the school.
NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Hon. Jolly A. Oledan and duly seconded by Hon. Jundry
C. Paloma, it was
RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED to request Congressman SHARKY YAP PALMA to
allocate funds for the construction of school buildings with 7 instructional classrooms at
Bawang Elementary School, Bawang, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to all offices concerned
for their information and appropriate action.
