THE LAST QUESTION

The story entitled “The Last Question: by Isaac Asimov is science fiction genre. It talks
about scientific happenings that are somehow analyzed fictional in some ways. The
setting of the story was in the space. It focuses with the idea of never-ending resources.
As they strive hard for it, it seems so challenging that everything seems not so well. In
short, the shortcomings of what they have like the technology impacted humanity’s
desire. In this way, I can say that this is unbelievable. Though in the idea of sun as a
star and it would vanish after how many millions of years may somehow be science-
based but the totality of setting was not believable and I can’t see it happening in the
future. The idea may just be a product of the authors great knowledge about science.
The story was so unbelievable in the sense that it has a lot of imaginative situations.

The last Question is a story that falls in science fiction category. The author, Isaac
Asimov was a famous for this genre. He was scientifically – inclined since he is a
biochemistry major. In line with this, we can see that the story might be influenced by
his wide and vast knowledge of the field. The story was actually so great that it had
impacted people’s understanding. The author’s depiction of humanity as seeking
matters for unending supply made the story so contextualized. In reality, people are
trying to access as much as they can due to lack of resources. The focus on the
technological advancement as well as failure also suggest its almost believable aspect.
