Doctors on Call is medical service provided to patients via an online platform
(mobile application and website) to facilitate: An appointment scheduling,
emergency appointment, Patient/doctor inside Egypt encounter,
Patient/doctor outside Egypt, online consultation and telemedicine, Laboratory
and radiology investigations, Patient education, and Patient file of Medical
records.

P Political:
Egypt has recently reached government stability, and is currently working on encouraging
investment through the new law of investment, which came out in early July 2018 by
offering a range of incentives, also providing better opportunities for SMEs to integrate
more seamlessly into the formal economy. This would assist in the development of
individual businesses and thereby boost the country’s economic performance as a whole.
Such new trend in the Country and by encouraging the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises
sectors, availed to our business the Opportunity to be registered and booming. The six
element of Egypt vision 2030 include " all Egyptians have the right to a safe and healthy
life through the implementation of an integrated health system characterized by availability
and quality Non-discrimination and able to improve health indicators by achieving
universal health and preventive coverage and early intervention.

E Economical
The currency fluctuation in Egypt in 2016 is affecting
the Egyptian doctors to find any chance to provide his
or her services with no need to go to clinic or a home
visit. Most people have smart phones with internet
access. People having emergencies will consider
finding nearest doctor service providers with
reasonable prices. People will prefer to order the
service via their smart phones as opposed to
exhausting phone calls and endless waits or search for
the nearest doctor clinic or hospitals. It will make
service easier with fewer fees. It is also very
important for emergency cases, also the World Bank
predicted a growth rate of 1.9 percent in the Middle
East and North Africa region, stressing that Egypt is
one of the most important countries in the region, which will witness a growth rate in 2019
of 5.6 percent, driven by the economic reforms, increased investment and high private
consumption rates.
Egypt Economics indicators: Such application will help doctors fine more chances for
better connection with people, and it will provide more jobs opportunities.

Egypt’s economic freedom score is 52.5, making its economy the 144th freest in the 2019
Index. business freedom, and judicial effectiveness overwhelming improvements in
property rights and government spending. Egypt is ranked 11th among 14 countries in the
Middle East and North Africa region, and its overall score is below the regional and world
averages.

Economic policy remains focused on fiscal and business-related structural reforms to


restore financial stability and improve the business environment after years of political
turmoil. Growing confidence in the economic availability of hard currency has raised

ranked 128, indicating that there are positive indicators that the investment climate in Egypt
has improved significantly globally.

Competitiveness Report published by the World Economic Forum. Competitiveness Index
in Egypt averaged 12.10 Points from 2007 until 2018, reaching an all-time high of 53.59
Points in 2018 and a record low of 3.60 Points in 2015.Egypt is the 94 most competitive
nation in the world out of 140 countries ranked in the 2018 edition of the Global

activity in all sector like education, health as it enables its users to reach needed data in no

Egypt begins to convert to digital& develop smart cities and automated all service to align
with the newest trend in the world, According to Monitor, Egypt is entering the race to
mechanize government services and the development of smart city technologies after
launching seven governmental platforms on the Internet to convert the country digitally, the
site said that these platforms included Data, automated services, and payments.
Telecommunication infrastructure and Mobile coverage with fourth generation is now
available, along all social classes targeted are using Smart Phones and already adequate to
use their phone and benefits from Free Applications downloads from either IOS app store
or Android play store.
Mobile penetration reached 101.62% at the end of the period (October - December 2018)
Compared to 111.64% at the end of the period (October - December 2017) with an annual
change rate of -10.3%

Total mobile Internet users increased by 35.06 million by the end of (October - December
2018) compared to 32.79 million at the end of the period (October-December 2017) with an
annual growth rate of 6.93%.

The proportion of households using the Internet in the rural area was 42%, while 62% using
the internet in the urban area.
E Environmental
Egypt is the most populated country in the middle east and north Africa region. Cairo is the
largest city in the Arab world with a population 12.3 million. Much of the government
policy has focused on population density as the main contributor to a multitude of social,
economic and environmental challenges such as noise and air pollution, heavy traffic,
limited housing capacity and poor public health.
Building new cities helping create more places to live, work and visit (the new
administrative capital). This will reshape life in Cairo and affect the people life.

levels in a new generation of investment treaties, laws, policies and regulations, Egypt
contributed to this process through revamping its national and international legal

Providing an investment environment that will attract investors and gain their confidence ,
This requires developing the legislative environment to put Egypt back on the global
investment map , Legislative reforms adopted on a breakthrough in previous laws and
legislation, it takes in the remarkable technological developments that took place during the
previous years necessitated a great effort in which all the organs of the state cooperated and
the Council of the elected representatives responded to these amendments.

Principles governing investment in Egypt: The new law also identifies eight principles that
should govern investment and apply to both the state and investors. These principles
include (Arts. 3–8):

after we make a deal changing one of them with another will be difficult and
costly. also we have to pay for them after or during the web or app developing
before we gain enough money.
Hosting will be easy and shifting from one web to another will not be difficult but
may be costly.
Doctors: doctors are the main supplier for health care and consultation services,
we assume that the number of qualified doctors who can provide the basic
consultation services is big enough to decrease their bargaining power, shifting
from doctor to another will be easy and without loss in money

-The demand for healthcare services is increasing day by day, and number of
companies that work in automated and online healthcare services still low, also
the revolution of IT generates a need to redesign the way in which healthcare
services can be provided. All of that make a need to differentiated healthcare
services, so we expect that number of buyers will be huge and their bargaining
power will be limited. It will be some difficulty in comparing the prices of some
services such as online consultation against face to face normal encounter with
doctor
On the other hand, there are many companies that can provide our services but in
a fragmented manner, so we expect that switching cost to another service
provider will not be costly and this may increase bargaining power of buyer in
this point.
4. Threats of new entrants
The economies of scale on our services is absent, the capital required to begin
this work is relatively small and no governmental restriction for new entrants
which increase the threats of new entrants. But on the other side the customer
loyalty to the existing enterprises may be low which can limit this threat.
5. Threats of substitutes
There are many companies that provide similar services with acceptable quality
but not the best, the services provided by them is of an acceptable price. So the
threat of substitutes is high.

Product and Service Feasibility Analysis: (Consumer


Behavior)
Online Survey
We have conducted an online survey for our customers via an electronic tool;
google form. Copy of the survey questions is attached in the annex section. The
survey aims at collecting data about the consumer (patient) behavior towards our
project idea. The purpose of this survey is to determine customer segmentation,
customer behavior, and service validation. The survey link has been launched via
social media on 25 June 2019 and has been closed on 13 July. A total number of
102 responses were received. Altogether, 100 respondents completed the survey
with valid responses which were usable for analysis. Two forms of data were
collected: qualitative data including participant opinions and comments and
quantitative data including general frequencies and counts. The collected data is
analyzed using google form and Excel.

The Results:
Customer Segmentation:
● Descriptive Statistics
The sample contained 23 male (23%) and 77 female (77%). Respondents’
age group maximum level is at the range of (25-35); (43%) followed by the range
from (35-45); (31%), while the lowest range of age group is at (above 60); (1%).
A total of 32 respondents (32%) are located in Faisal and Haram, followed by
(17%) located in 6th of October and (7%) located in Nase City. The highest
income range of respondents ranges from (2000-5000 EP); (62%) followed by
(25%) less than 2000 EP, while the lowest rate is at (more than 15000 EP), (3%).
A total (55%) of respondents are married and (42%) are single. The majority

respondents (91.4%) have children. A total (54%) of respondents have insurance


system while (46%) 0f them have not. a total of (65%) of respondents hold a
bachelor degree and (31%) hold higher degrees, while only (4%) hold an
intermediate education. The majority of respondents are in a healthy state (81%),
(12%) suffers from chronic diseases, and (7%) suffers from obesity

Customer Behavior:
● Descriptive Statistics
Most of the respondents (55%) visit the private doctor in a non-constant manner.
38 respondents (38%) use a mobile phone to get the medical services such as
scheduling their doctor appointment or seeking medical advice, only (6%) use
websites, only (2%) use mobile applications, only (1%) may use all the options,
only another (1%) may go directly to the clinic or use those tools, while (37%) go
directly to the clinic. Among 11 respondents who use or may use those online
tools, 5 respondents (45.5%) use Vezeeta mobile application, 2 respondents
(18.2%) use Estasharah Facebook messenger Chatbot, only 1 respondent (9.1%)
use Re3aya 247 online medical platform, also (9.1%) search websites from the
browsers, and (9.1%) use facebook. Also, among 11 respondents who use or may
use those online tool, 8 of them (71.2%) use them in a non constant manner and
only 2 (18.2%) and 1 (9.1%) respondents use them 1 and 2 times per month
respectively. Among the same 11 respondents who use or may use those online
tool, the majority of them (81.8%) preferred services provided by using those

tools for easy use of them. 6 respondents (54.5%) preferred services provided by
using those tools for its speed. The negative issues experienced by 6 respondents
of those 11 (54.5%) is the inadequate information followed by the slowness of
services (27.3%). Among the other 89 respondents who did not use the online

in the future and only 2 of them (2.2%) have no intention to use them. . In
general, the majority of respondents prefer getting the medical services via online
platform for consultation and medical advice (46.9%), and mobile phone for
scheduling (44.9%).

Product Validation:
● Descriptive Statistics
Regarding product validation, (51%) of the 98 respondents who use or intend
to use online platforms for seeking medical services, prefers getting medical
advice via conversation through Whatsup or any similar application. (63.3%)
of those respondents expect direct communication with the doctor followed by
follow-up services expected by (59.2%). Only (32.7%) expect getting free
services and the rest expect paying in different methods. (60.2%) of the same
respondents expected promotions for medical investigation services. The
majority of them (66.3%) prefer cash payment followed by (41.8%) who
prefer payment via credit cards, and (39.8%) via Fawry. Regarding
expectations of the respondents towards the project, there were 91 positive
comments, 5 neutral comments, and only one negative comment.

2.1.3. Questionnaire
We have conducted an online questionnaire for our suppliers (physicians) via an
electronic tool; Google form. The supplier questionnaire aims at collecting data
about supplier segmentation, supplier behaviors, service validation, and the
operation. The questionnaire link has been sent to 11 doctors of different
specialties via social media on 2 July 2019. Two forms of data were collected:
qualitative data including participant opinions and comments and quantitative
data including general frequencies and counts. The collected data is analyzed
using the Google form and Excel.
The Results:
● Descriptive Statistics
The sample contained 11 respondents. Among them, (81.8%) are females
and (18.2%) are males. The majority of respondents (72.7%) are specialist and
(27.3%) are residents. Also, the majority of them (90.9%) have master degree.
Respondents’ age group maximum level is at the range of (25-35); (54.5%)
followed by the range from (35-45); (36.4%) and (9.1%) for (45-60) age range. A
total (27.3%) of respondents are located in 6th of October, followed by (18.2%)
located in Nasr City and (9.1%) located in Faisal and Haram. The highest income
range of respondents is less than (5000 EP); (72.7%) followed by (27.3%) ranges
from (5000-10000 EP). The majority of respondents, 9 (81.8%) work at general
hospital. Only (27.3%) of respondents have private clinics.
Only 2 (18.2%) of respondents tried providing medical services such as
medical advices using a telephone or an online platform, (45.5%) did not try but
like to try them, while (36.4%) did not try and did not believe in them. Among
those who tried them, (50%) used Facebook or telephone and (50%) used
messenger. They provided them for free and faced problems in communication
and inadequate information about the patients. (100%) among those who have
private clinics prefer support from third party for to manage their patient
scheduling. The fee is less than 100 LE in (66.7%) of those who have private
clinics and ranges from (100-200 LE) in (33.3%).
Among the respondents, (54.5%) like to market their business using digital
marketing. Four respondents (66.7%) prefer marketing via written medical
consultation, (66.7%) prefer marketing via publishing their profiles, (66.7%)
prefer marketing via patient evaluations for them, (50%) prefer marketing via
medical consultation or video of medical contents, and (33.3%) prefer marketing
via medical consultation or recorded medical contents. Only (13.2%) of
respondents prefer providing medical advices through online platforms and all

respondents prefer face to face communication with patients to provide medical


advices. The majority of respondents (72.7%) prefer scheduling services in our
project followed by (63.6%) prefer follow-up services. Regarding the comments,
total 10 respondents among 11 give positive comments about their expectations
towards our project and only one give a negative comment. A total 4 respondents
(36.4%) expect to pay a small fee for getting our services, (36.4%) expect
monthly small subscription fee for our services, (36.4%) expect a small
percentage of each services provided through the project, and also (36.4%) expect
getting services interchangeably with other services such as marketing services.
The majority of respondents (63.6%) prefer payment via Fawry, followed by
(27.3%) who prefer payment via credit cards.

1.1. Legal Framework

At first, the owners of the application will start to make the legal steps to create
the business legal form by making a contract with a lawyer. The owners will
determine the starting budget to be around (600,000 LE). The type of the business
will be (limited liability Company, LLC). The bank account of the entity will be
created according to the selected type of the business.
A limited liability company (LLC) is a corporate structure in Egypt whereby
the owners are not personally liable for the company's debts or liabilities. Limited
liability companies are hybrid entities that combine the characteristics of a
corporation with those of a partnership or sole proprietorship.
The advantages of LLCs

Limited Liability Company (LLC) shall be owned and managed by the founders
and it shall outsource legal services to be in shape with the government requirements

Source of capital
Funding of DOCTOR ON CALL operations and other financial demands will be
sourced from the savings of co-founders; Ahmed, Nesma, Rania, Nour, Rasha,
and Manal as we will invest EGP600K the business (100k/ each).

Location of Doctor on call office


The proposed location of Doctor on call office has been chosen to minimize the
rent fees, and place nearby target patient and doctors also nearby Haram central
to guarantee high speed of running app. The office location will be in haram with
a total office area of 100m2 with rental cost EGP4K monthly. As for other factors
as customer’s preference and accessibility to potential customers they have been
disregarded as the customers will utilize the service(s) through the web page and
mobile application.

Revenues Assumption
 The revenue assumptions take into account the following:
1- Achieve targets in 48000 patients in first year & 600 doctor
2- Achieve targets in 100000 patients in second year & 1000 doctor
3- Achieve targets in 150000 patients in first year & 1500 doctor
4- Annual growth in all service fees is 20% from the previous year.
5- Annual increase of exchange rate for10%.
6- Doctor on call scheduling service share 20% from doctor fees with annual
growth 20% on this percentage followed cost leadership strategy ass it is
me too service.

Introduction:
We are team members working on a project as part of our MBA program at ESLSCA Business School. We
would like to invite you to participate in this online questionnaire and we would like to thank you in
advance for your participation. The questionnaire is a part of our project (Doctors on Call), which aims at
collecting data about supplier (Physician) behavior towards our project idea. The purpose of this
questionnaire is to determine supplier segmentation, supplier behavior, service validation, and the operation.
Your completion of this questionnaire will serve as your consent to be in the research study that precedes
our project. Your participation is valuable and the information you provide will be used to enhance the
medical services provided via our project. We ask you to fill it out with as much accuracy as possible.
Writing your name and email address are optional but preferred for better communication. Your answers
will remain anonymous and your individual privacy and confidentiality of the information you provide will
be maintained. The questionnaire completion will not take more than 10 minutes. Your responses will be
submitted electronically via a google form.
