Application/Assessment

A. Reflective writing:

1. In what way can we be/ are we like Mary as the evangelized and evangelizer?

- We can be like Mary as the evangelized and evangelizer by living a life with firm faith. Only faith can
embrace the mysterious ways of God’s almighty power. This faith glories in its weaknesses in order to
draw to itself Christ’s power. Mary invited others to come to Christ, to obey Christ, to follow Christ, and
she invited those to invite others to do the same. We can also do the same in our time today even just a
simple prayer for our neighbors would mean a lot especially when the Holy Spirit moves within them. We
should not be ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who
believes.

2. Are there instances in my life as a disciple where I become like Mary in her attitude of service and
sacrifice?

- Yes there were many instances where I became like Mary. It was manifested whenever I do things
selflessly for others. Sometimes, I put other people first than myself. If it makes them happy, it will also
give me genuine happiness. Also, my commitment in our church. Even if I always have a tight schedule
and I am physically tired, I never forget to render my service to the Almighty Father with the use of my
gifts. I believe that He is the one who renews my strength.

3. How can/In what way do I live out in my life Mary’s virtues of humility, obedience and modesty?

- I can also live out Mary’s virtues of humility, obedience, and honesty by first, keeping my feet on the
ground even if I achieve the greatest of things. I will always remain humble in every achievement in life.
Second, obedience. Even if it will cost me my time and strength, I will do the best I can to obey what God
wants me to be for I know that my life is in His hands and without Him, I am also nothing. I will obey His
commands and live a life pleasing to Him. Lastly, I can also live a life with modesty for I know that I cannot
rely on my own abilities for me to become successful, therefore, I will not be too proud or confident about
myself or my abilities because in everything that I do it should only be Gods’ is glorified.

4. How are you going to emulate the virtues everyday as a young laity?

- First, I will seek guidance, wisdom, and humility to the Lord everyday by praying. I know that I need Him
for me to practice and carry out all of these virtues. I will always keep in mind and take these seriously so
that I can do it with all the genuineness my heart can give. In today’s time where sickness, difficulties, and
struggles are always present in our everyday lives, we need to take the first step in empowering others to
also live a life like Mary. Also, as women, she should be our model and the virtues that she is known for
should also be the virtues that we need to hold and act out all the days we live.
