Computer acts as a teacher because it is

concepts. Examples are the tutorial videos
or programs present in the computer or in
different websites wherein one could
acquire knowledge.

Computers as a tool involves the use of general
purpose applications such as Microsoft word,
power point presentations used in preparing
reports and in organizing information. As for

class. In this example, the computer simply
follows what you have input or programmed to

2. Assess current personal usage of computer applying the tutor-tool-tutee model.

Computer as a Tutor

I got my new laptop recently. In serious tone, I


am not a computer literate. I am not good in
dealing applications and such. But with the
information given by the application providers,
I was able to know the things that I needed to
know. Users or learners like me shouldn’t have
any problem in terms of technicalities because
it is in program. Learning these techy things
helps me to become flexible in terms of using
technologies, thus, help me to get the
information’s easily.
Computer as a Tool

A lot has been affected because of COVID-19 including the Philippine


education system. Supposedly, the starting of classes was on last June for
Elementary and public High Schools’ but it was cancelled due to this pandemic. It is
very dangerous for the learners especially to those young ones to go out because of
the fact that they belong to the vulnerable group in the present society. DepEd as
well as CHED doesn’t want to take risk. That is why new modes of learning have
been implemented. There are two: Modular and the online learning. Both are
distance learning.

In my case, our school implements the online distance learning. Computers,


laptops and cellphones have big roles in our study. It became our tool to
communicate, to create things that are very helpful learning. It is very significant
because we usually submitted our file in pdf or docx format. So we type and type in
answering the assigned tasks to us, we create powerpoint presentations through
various applications. I am humbly accepted this new learning challenge.

Computer as a Tutee

Recently we are task to create a module and a power point presentation.


Laptop doesn’t work with its own. As an owner and a learner, what you have put or
what you have type will reflect on the desired output that you want to achieve.
Applications and user should work as one.
3. Transform the negative effects of computer into its educational and instructional values.

Doing all calculations with the help of software and calculator can affect our own
mathematical ability. In simple words, computers can make us a bit lazy and this can
cause problems while giving examinations which are not conducted online, but need us
to do all calculations by ourselves.

With ready-made information available on the Internet, students will not take
any interest in reading reference books and searching for information using other
sources. Reading less can hamper their progress and educational future.

But if we see it in a better perspective, these negative effects of computer can be


transformed to educational and instructional values. Likewise the addiction of online
games particularly the mobile legends, teachers could employ activities which relates to
this game and, therefore, students will be motivated to learn and actively participates.
