General Guidelines for Virtual College Days
Academic, Literary and Socio-Cultural Competitions
Virtual Attendance is a must.
All violation of the guidelines and mechanics that indicated as prohibited
will result of disqualification. Disqualified entry merits 0 points but their
placements stay’s the same.
All cases of disqualification will be investigated by the SSC. The
jurisdiction will be announcing after the investigation.
Each division will have a grace period of 15 minutes in all event regardless
on their order of performance.
The decision made by the SSC is final and irrevocable.

QUIZ BEE COMPETITION
Guidelines and Mechanics
1) The contest is open to any bona-fide students of Brokenshire College Socsksargen, Inc.
2) The contest shall consist of 1 participant per division.
3) Questions will be provided by the Supreme Student Council.
4) The contestant will enter to the Google Meet link provided by the SSC.
5) All contestants should be present 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Immediate
disqualification will be implemented to those contestants who failed to show up to 10
minutes after the supposed start of the quiz bee.
6) Clarification regarding the rules of the competition shall be entertained by the committee
before the start of the contest.
7) Supreme Student Council is not responsible for any internet interruption of participants.
8) Strictly no turning the camera off while the quiz is ongoing, otherwise answers will not be
valid.
I. SCORING MECHANICS
1) The contest shall follow a point system of scoring.
Easy Round - 1 point
Average Round - 3 points
Difficult Round - 5points
2) The contestant with the highest score will be declared as the Champion. The next two
highest scoring contestants shall be declared First and Second Runners up respectively.
II. EASY AND AVERAGE ROUND
1)The easy and average round consists of (20) questions, (10) for the easy round and (10) for
the average round
2)The question shall be read twice. Afterwards, the quiz master will say “GO”, only then the
contestants may start writing their answer on the illustration board and at the same time, the
start of the countdown timer.
3)All teams will be given (20) seconds to answer the question.
4) All participant should raise their pens and show their final answers after the time allotted for
the specified question.
5)Each participant must write their final answer to the illustration boards.
III. DIFFICULT ROUND
1) The difficult round consists of (10) questions.
2) The question shall be read twice. Afterwards, the quiz master will say “GO”, only then the
contestants may start writing their answer on the illustration board and at the same time, the
start of the countdown timer.
3) All participant should raise their pens and show their final answers after the time allotted for
the specified question.
4) Each participant must write their final answer to the illustration boards.
5) All teams will be given (15) seconds to answer the question.
6) In case of a tie, a clincher will be asked and is worth (1) point.
7) The participant with the highest scores gathered shall be the declared the Champion, 1 st
placer, 2nd placer, and 3rd placer.
ESSAY WRITING
Guidelines and Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to any bona-fide students of Brokenshire College Socsksargen, Inc.
2. Student essayists shall write an argumentative essay on a topic related to the
given theme.
3. Essays shall follow the 3-5 paragraph structure — introduction, body, and
conclusion.
4. Essays shall be written on the scheduled day.
5. The essay writing contestant will be given 2 hours to submit their piece.
6. The Essay will be submitted to the Gmail rovided by the SSC.
7. Upon submission of the results to the committee, judges’ decision shall be
considered final and irrevocable.
8. The contestants shall be ranked as Champion, 1 st Runners-Up, 2nd Runners-Up,
and 3rd Runners-up

EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECH COMPETITION
Guidelines and Mechanics:
1. The topic shall be given on the spot by the Supreme Student Council.
The Supreme Student Council shall give topics prior to the start of the
competition related to the theme.
2. The contestants shall be given five (5) minutes to prepare and five (5) minutes to
deliver.
The contestants are not allowed to have any gadget.
A timer accessible to the contestant, judges and audience shall be provided.
There will be a 1-point deduction for every 15-seconds overtime from the
respective judges’ total score before determining the rank of the contestants.
3. The style of the delivery shall be conversational, oratorical or a combination of both.
Dramatic style is considered disqualified.
4. The contestant should wear shirt that will represent their division
5. Use of sound effects, microphones and props is disallowed.
6.The contestant will enter to the Google Meet link provided by the SSC.
7.The contestants encourage having strong internet connection and encouraging
opening their cameras.
8.The Supreme Student Council is not responsible for any loss or instability of internet
connection during the contest
9.The competition will be held through Google Meet and will be livestreaming through
Facebook provided by the Supreme Student Council.
9. After the deliberation of the members of the board of judges, the judges’ decision is
final and irrevocable.

POSTER MAKING CONTEST
Guidelines and Mechanics
• The poster making contest is open to all bona-fide students of Brokenshire
College of Socsksargen Inc.
• Only 1 participant each division
• The poster should be the visualization of this year’s College Day Theme:
“Thriving and Blessed with God’s Mercy and Grace.
• Participants may use any medium. (Crayon, Craypas, Water Color, Pentel pen,
Pencil etc.)
• The participant’s name and department should be written at the back of each
entry.
• Participants will provide a time laps video during the time the make the poster.
• Participants must use 15”x20” illustration board.
• The Dean/Department Head/President will certify that the poster was originally
created by the participant; any form of plagiarism will be disqualified
automatically.
• All entries must be submitted on October 08, 2021 and will be exhibited on the
covered court and will be judge on October 09, 2021
• In participation of the strict implementation of our existing health protocols, only
the Dean/President/Representative for each department will be allowed to carry
and turn-over each entry to the school.
• All entries will become a property of Brokenshire College of Socksargen School
Library.

MUSIC DANCE VIDEO COMPETITION
Guidelines and Mechanics
The contest is open to all BCSI bonafide students.
Each division must have minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 (Male or female or
combination of both).
Each performance should be 3 to 5 minutes only.
Each group contestant must at least have a synchronized/simultaneous dance.
Dance genre is modern freestyle. Choreography should not be vulgar and must
not contain any sexual suggestive act.
Too much skin exposure is prohibited. (Use skin tone instead).
Strictly no meet up for dance practice.
Each division must submit their video on or before October 7, 2021.
The contestant will submit their video on the Gmail provided by the SSC.

SINGING SOLO
Guidelines and Mechanics
Each division must have 1 performer.
Each performance should be 3 to 5 minutes only.
Each division can choose their song/piece (explicit songs are prohibited).
Each division has the option of selecting their own costumes.
Revealing costume is prohibited (No cleavage exposure, No see-through
costumes, No too much skin exposure)
Each division must submit their video on or before October 7, 2021.
The contestant will submit their video on the Gmail provided by the SSC.

PAGEANT
Guidelines and Mechanics
A. Contestants:
1. The division should have 1 pair of representatives, (1 male, 1 female).
2. Candidate must be a bonafide student of Brokenshire College
Socsksargen, Inc.
3. Candidate should not be married nor with offspring.
4. Candidate must have no failing grades and have no records of
misdemeanor.
5. Candidates should attend activities intended for the pageant (practices,
meetings)
6. Participants who are already title holder to any Beauty Pageant outside
and inside the institution are not allowed to join this pageant
B. Pre-pageant Mechanics
1. The contestants shall go to school in their scheduled hours during the
pre-pageant with 1 assistant each division.
2. The contestants must already wear their make-up before going to the school.
3. The contestants must always observe health and safety protocols (Wear
facemask and face shield upon entering the school premises).
4. The contestants will advise to directly proceed to the designated room (All
contestants are discouraged to loiter).
5. After the pictorial, the contestants are strictly encouraged to go home.
C. Sequence of Pre-pageant (October 6, 2021 10:00 AM, BCSI)
Production number, Uniform attire, and Casual attire. These segments will be
done in advance of the contest (Pre-Video Shooting) and will be shown at the
day of the pageant.
PRODUCTION NUMBER
Candidates will be wearing white pants and their departmental shirt for the
production number
Candidates may use accessories
Head dress are not allowed
STRICTLY No obscene revealing outfit such as: cleavage exposure nor
belly exposure, no see-through clothes allowed.
Candidates are not allowed to use tattered or ripped jeans for this
segment.
UNIFORM ATTIRE
Candidates will be wearing their respective uniforms.
CASUAL ATTIRE
Candidates will be wearing casual outfits
STRICTLY No obscene revealing outfit such as: cleavage exposure
nor belly exposure,
No see-through clothes allowed.
Accessories are allowed except headdress.
D. Guidelines and Mechanics for Pageant Day.
1. The contestants shall go to school in their scheduled hours during the
pre-pageant with 1 assistant each division.
2. The contestants must already wear their make-up before going to the school.

Sequence of Pageant
FORMAL ATTIRE
Candidates are encouraged to wear any color.
*Accessories are allowed.
*Props and head dress are NOT allowed for this segment
STRICTLY: No revealing outfit (no cleavage exposure, nor belly
exposure, no see-through dresses allowed)
QUESTION AND ANSWER PORTION
All candidates will be given a chance to express their selves on the
Question & Answer portion
Each candidate will be having different question, a set of questions will
be prepared and will be collected from the judges
Only the judges could see and screen the questions. Questions will be
randomly picked by the candidates.
This segment will happen during the coronation night on October 8, 2021.
E. Guidelines for Make-up and Styling:
1. Each candidate is not allowed to have make-up artist. Therefore, there should
be (1) ONE assistant (who knows how to make up) for each division during
the pictorial and whole duration of the pageant.
Make up and styling should be fit on the concept:
For pictorial:
*Nude &Fresh Make-up, curls or messy bun is encouraged for girls.
*Nude & Fresh Make-up, brushed up hair is encouraged for boys.
2. Body Make up is not allowed during the pictorial and whole duration of the
pageant.
3. No use of headpiece or unnecessary ornaments, particularly during the formal
attire portion of the pageant.
Ranking of the candidates will be based on all the segments of the pageant. The
candidate who got the highest score will be declared Mr. or Ms. Brokenshire 2021.
B. Awarding of Winners: The Special Awards will be given as follows;
i. Mr. & Ms. Photogenic
ii. People’s Choice Award (base on most liked photo on Facebook)
iii. Best in Production Number (Male/Female)
iv. Best in Uniform Attire
v. Best in Formal Attire (Male/Female)

C. Criteria for Judging: Scoring will be based upon the general impression of the

Inc.
2. Each division must have only 1 contestant.
3. The video presentation should be 5 to 10 minutes only.
4. The sermonette must be in Tagalog, English or mix of Tagalog and English to avoid
language barrier.
5. The message is prepared and recorded.
6. The message must be motivational inline with the theme “Thriving and Blessed with
God’s Mercy and Grace”
7. The video presentation must submit on or before October 6, 2021.
8. The contestant will submit their video on the Gmail provided by the SSC.
