THE MOBILE PHONE

 Definition
It is a portable communication device. The purpose of a mobile is to be
able to make and receive calls on the go. Then there is text message. A mobile phone (also
known as a cellular phone, cell phone and a hand phone) is a device. Mobile phones connect to
a wireless communications network through radio wave or satellite transmissions.

 Explanation (example)
The mobile phones allow the mechanics to
communicate with the garage, so they know where they are and can pass new customer
information on to them. The phones also allow the mechanics to communicate with customers.
Although the garage and mechanics will call each other on the same network, the calls to
customers will be on different networks. However, if the mechanics communicate only with the
garage and other mechanics on landlines and the same network, it will be cheaper to purchase
anytime minutes for just that network.

 Comparison
The telephone is also called landline because you cannot take it along
with you anywhere except for a few. Mobile phone is handy and can easily fit in your pocket
and you can carry it wherever you go. On telephone there are limited functions available apart
from calling, receiving calls. On mobile there are many functions available. Telephone is the
mode of connection through cables while mobile is wire free and uses a card as a calling
identity number. Telephone doesn't need any kind of electrical or battery charge to make or
take calls, while the battery of the mobile has to be charged when out of power.

 Contrast
Consider the reliability of landline phones compared to cell phones. The
quality of cell-phone service may not be the same everywhere in your home or office. Cell-
phone service is also more easily interrupted by disasters. Realize that while cell phones can be
very useful when an emergency occurs away from home, landline phones offer the best
protection for emergencies that occur at home. Emergency crews are usually able to pinpoint
your location when you make a call using a landline, whereas the location of cell phones can't
dispatcher your location, this difference could prove important always be as easily determined.

One of the most common sights we see these days is that of people with their mobile

anywhere. In the same way, the mobile phone has enabled both teachers and students to keep in touch
and help them deal with class problems, discuss assignments, and make plan for study. So they have
many effects of mobile phone.
