EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Design Draftsperson/CNC Programmer | Bylaser | Nov 2020 - Present
I am currently employed full time as an industrial design draftsperson and CNC programmer for Bylaser Australia.
My main duties in this role involve overseeing the day-to-day operations of the design and programming department which include:
• Liaising with customers for design and drafting approvals prior to commencing work.
• Developing new parts and re-developing existing customer files to suit our machines and tooling using SolidWorks, AutoCAD
and Rhino 3D.
• Daily job/part nesting for material procurement to ensure cost efficiency.
• Assist the estimating department with technical assistance for laser cutting and fabrication queries and pricing.
• Organising and monitoring jobs for the factory to ensure machines and production have maximum up time for day and night laser
shifts.
• Producing production reports for management to monitor workload, overall department performance and project issues.
KEY ROLE ACHIEVEMENTS
• Restructured the programming department through implementing new processes to improve efficiencies and reduce errors.
• Implemented a new process for working through jobs which picked up on jobs by category - due date, waiting for material, jobs with
secondary processes. This enabled us to prioritise jobs accordingly rather than just working from the newest.
• Created a QA checklist for potential mistakes ie. check for new parts, check parts are nested correctly, tolerance checks etc.
• Worked alongside the programming/design manager to produce and manufacture an awning design from our client's concept to
final product for Supa Peg, which is now sold as a complete product online and in-store.
