In preparation for a highly organized Career


Guidance Program for Grade 10 and Senior High
School students, Sampiro Integrated Senior High
School conducted a virtual orientation for teachers.
This aims to empower and prepare our teachers for
the implementation of the Career Guidance
Program. Teachers undergo training and seminars
that will help them to fully equip with systematized
knowledge in guiding our learners to choose the best
career path for the near future.

The first discussant was Mrs. Rhina Joyce A. Tutor, School Guidance
Counselor and Career Guidance Coordinator-JHS. She highlighted the
Career Guidance Program and The Career Guidance and Counseling Act
for Secondary Schools (RA 11206) and CGP Tool Kit and tackled the
information about career planning tools that will make some complex
tasks easier to manage. She explained and ran down tips on how to do the
documents, worksheets, procedures, or practices used to help teachers
determine and evaluate the best career path for every learner. She also
specified that this toolkit will provide Homeroom Guidance teachers
with further knowledge on basic tools and techniques in conducting
career coaching activities for Grade 10 and senior high school students.
She also said that this Toolkit consists of career planning activities and
assessment tools to help learners in determining the various options
available to arrive at a chosen career goal. With emphasis, she dispelled
the idea of selecting a preferred senior high school track based on the
learner’s talents, values, interests, personal goals, and aspirations.

On the other hand, Mrs. Maureen M. Matienzo, our Prefect of Discipline


Coordinator and Guidance Designate-SHS stressed out the Career
Guidance Program S.Y.2021-2022 (DM-OUCI-2021-347), Curriculum
Exit, and Career Guidance Portfolio. Also, she shared her in-depth
knowledge about this. With her very enthusiastic and encouraging words,
she emphasized that the primary goal of the Career Guidance Program
(CGP) is to give learners the right tools and provide them with a critical
mind so that they can make the right decision during and after their
academic journey. She also pointed out that Curriculum Exit will train and
develop students’ competencies not only to be educated but also to
become globally competitive to the modern world. According to her,
Curriculum Exit focused only on grade 12 or graduating Senior High
School for them to fully understand the four main curriculum exits such
as Higher Education, Middle-level skills, Entrepreneurship, and
Employment. She also stated that Homeroom Guidance teachers should
equip and enlighten our learners on what to do and where to go after
Senior High School.

In summary, this virtual orientation for Grade 10


and Senior High School Teachers of Sampiro
Integrated Senior High School was indeed a
success. The main purpose of the seminar was
well delivered and highly served to all the
facilitators of CGP. Before she ended her
discussion, a quote from Abraham Lincoln was
shared with us. Indeed, another fruitful and
meaningful goal was brought and surely will
enlighten and give a positive impact to everyone.
