Objective
In this activity you should be able to:
 classify substances as elements and compounds; and
 recognize elements and compounds based on their chemical formula/symbol.

Materials: crayons
Direction: Use the color code keys to correctly match the elements and compounds to their symbols or chemical
formulas in the puzzle board below. Identify whether the given chemical symbols are elements or compounds by
writing them in the beaker.
