RFI-157 Request For NDT (Only RT) Acceptance For PQR Joints

An engineer requested confirmation that only radiography testing (RT) would be accepted for non-destructive testing (NDT) of pipe qualification run (PQR) joints due to current issues with spiral welded pipe and ultrasonic testing. The responsible party confirmed that RT would be accepted as the main inspection method for PQR during requalification of ultrasonic testing and manufacture of calibration blocks, but ultrasonic testing would additionally be required once it and the blocks were available again.

Please kindly confırm the acceptance of NDT(RT) for PQR Joints


Response:

RT is accepted as the main inspection method for PQR during the period of re qualification of AUT and manufacture of relevant calibration
blocks.

Once the AUT and blocks are available , AUT will then be additionally required as normal.
