Installation Considerations
For proper installation and operation, check
each ofthe folowing before mounting the
uns:
1. Allow adequate space forthe unit and free
air or service clearances reference Figure 2
‘See Figures 4, and 8 for general unit
dimensions, For servicing and routine
maintenance, provide access to the unit
through removable panes inthe celing
Before instaling any unt make sure proper
Preparation has been made at each unt
Iocation for piping and electrical
(Check thatthe supporting structure is
strong enough to support unt weights, as
given on Figures 4, Sand 6
4.Allunts must be mounted LEVEL to
assure proper drainage ané operation
Ducting connected to unts (where
applicable) should not exceed the external
state pressure rating ofthe unt
6. Condensate protection forthe chilled water
valves and piping must be provided by
installer. grain pan extension provided by
installer should be located under the vahes
or else the valies and piping should be
thoroughly insulated,
Units with valve package are equipped
with long drain pan which ean cary the
condensation from water valves.
Insulation of vale package isnot required
Mounting

Start Up/Operation
Preparation
Before starting the unt complete the above
mentioned INSTALLATION CHECKLIST to
‘ensure the proper sta-up preparation is
completed.
Operation
Fan coll operation can be controled by @
simple motor speed switch or a thermostat,
The wall-mounted thermostat unt usually
Includes a motor speed switch, an onfff
‘teh anda thermostat. The enfoffsvteh
tums the unit on and off and the motor
speed svitch controls the fan speed. The
thermostat controls the water valve and
usually has @ dalto select an approximate
setting temperature
Itthe associated thermostat isnot used for
contal the installer should choose other
‘ype of thermostat which complies wth the
safety codes,
‘The simple motor speed switch, labeled Of.
HiMed-Low, controls te fan col by turing the
switch to diferent speed for adjusting the air
ow,
For the unit with electe heater option, a
high temperature cutout with automatic reset
is provided to de-energize electic heat in
the event ofan overheat condition In addition
the unit also equipped with a fuse which
provide double protection fr electric heat
operation.
Coil Venting
When water is fst intoduced into a eal air
is sometimes trapped inthe coll tubing. This
‘rapped ai has a tendency to collect at the
highest point inthe coil Therefore, e manual
air vents instaled atthe highest point of the
header. When there appears tobe ar rapped
inthe col resutng in “bubbling” or
‘clanking’ noises within the un, release at
frem the manual ait vent by rotting the knob.
A pair of pers can be used ifthe knob i oo
tight to turn by hand. Tum knob counter
clockwise 1-2 tums and alow arto flow out
ofthe air vent unl a steady steam of water
appears. Then rtighten knob.

Maintenance Procedures
CChange/Clean Fitters
Change of clean air iters at least twice ayeat,
Fite will require more frequent care under
high load conditions or arty ait A clogged air
‘iter reduces ail, cooling capacty and
increases energy usage, Permanent (cleanable)
or replaceable mecia fiers are acceptable for
allunts,
‘Ta change fites wth replaceable media:
4. Disconnect electical power source.
2 Loosen two screws and brackets atthe
rear ofretum plenum,
3. Pullout the fiter and frame trom the
return plenum,
4, Remove two sores fom the fame.
5 Replace media in the frame.
6 Follow the opposite procedure to re-install
‘the fiter ame
7, Re-connect the electrical power source. To
lean permanent fiers, remove the fiter
media and wash tin water to remove dust, dit
and lint alow to dry thoroughly before re-
instaling in the une.
Change Entire Fan Board
‘The entre fan board ean be changed by
completing the folaving stops:

Maintenance
CAUTION: Due tothe dimensions and weights of
the fan board, atleast two installers is
recommended to do this stop for safety
7. Follow the opposite procedures to rental the
new fan board
Clean up debris on the eal and the inside of unit
casing before installing the fan board. Also check for
Uebris onthe fan wheel before sta-up.
Change Fan Housing/Fan Wheel
‘The fan housinglian wheel can be replaced, without
Femoving the entire fan board from the un,
completing the following steps

Coil Cleaning
Clogged or dirty coil will reduce the
cooling capacity. Followings are the
cleaning steps:
4 Disconnect the power and motor
wire and stop the fan
2.Remove the whole fan seat and
clean from the air inlet.
3.Clean the col fn using rigld nylon
