The Journey of Eat Simple
By Tahia Tasneem Monwar

Tahia Tasneem Monwar, the founder of Eat Simple, had no intention of making the business a
part-time job. She once went to a virtual session where female entrepreneurs discussed various
start-up company concepts. She was motivated by the session to pursue something she could
perform, something she enjoyed doing, and something that she could represent her. This is a very
incredible story about a girl who determined to follow his ambitions and achieve, no matter how
impossible those goals appeared at the time. When hotels and restaurants in Dhaka were forced to
close due to the new coronavirus outbreak, the city's handmade food enterprises grew in popularity.
She thinks this is the best time to open an online food business.

Ms. Tahia Tasneem Monwar began her career as an entrepreneur on June 14, 2020, when she was
21 years old. Eat Simple is her online food business. Eat Simple, located in Gulshan, Dhaka. The
online food business had a different impact on her life.

Initially, most of the orders came from people living in Dhaka city, but now people from various
communities are making their orders,' said Tahia, the owner of Eat Simple. While preparing the
foods, we constantly maintain a high level of sanitation. Eat Simple serves not only as a place to
do business, but also as a place to provide handmade, delicious cakes and to promote Chocolate
cakes and local food.

Certain cooking equipment items, such as mixing bowls, pots and pans, and sharp knives, should
be included in every kitchen. While you may save money on some kitchen items, there are other
chef-style appliances and brands that are well worth the money—think of them as investments.
Here are some of the tools, products, necessities, and other items that will help you go the
additional mile. Tahia bought the equipment for 10,000 taka using Tahia savings and a financial
help from his father. Because Tahia needs

After just three months, Eat Simple began to see a significant increase in business. They are really
well that you will forget that the chocolates come from a home kitchen rather than a factory. They
provide chocolate truffles, flowers, bespoke wrappers, and a plethora of other unique items that

impressed us. They also come in a wide range of flavors. Milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark
chocolate, mango, strawberry, coffee, dark coffee, butterscotch, and blueberry chocolate bars are
among the most popular, with prices ranging from TK 250 to 290. Their tiny truffles are TK 25 a
piece, but you must purchase a minimum of 10 pieces. Chocolate bars with personalized edible
lettering, their most popular item, are one of the most gorgeous things you'll ever see. In normal
times, her firm, Eat Simple, sold food worth Tk10,000 per week, but since the Covid-19 epidemic,
she has been selling things for Tk15,000-20,000 per week on average.

To conclude I will leave you with Ms. Tahia answer to the question; “Do you have any
advice for young entrepreneurs?” To this her replied I would like to suggest another would be
entrepreneur to have a solid business plan first, be ready for financial challenges, never stop
learning new things. Dreams and ambition will lead you through the fight, but the war will be won
through hard effort.

Myself: How did the pandemic affect your business? To what extend was it affected?

Interviewee: Well, the pandemic affected my business in a very positive way honestly since my

during this pandemic. So yeah this pandemic has influenced my business in a good way.

now because it may not be on trend after a while but if your idea is catchy
enough and wholly different than others then you can make it to attract clients
more than anyone and that's what it matters.
 Follow your passion and make it worthy enough

little business is satisfying more than 100+ customers every month and this makes me feel really
proud of my venture.

Myself: What is your most memorable business moment? A business highlight?

Interviewee: I have got so many memorable business moments; among them one is very
remarkable and that is I got some customized chocolates in my page. One day a guy texted on my
page to order a customized chocolate where a proposal would be written like “will you marry me?”
and it is supposed to be gifted to his girlfriend with whom he had a big fight some days earlier. So
he was afraid that he might get rejected so he told me that he wanted the best chocolates for her
because she loves chocolate so much and she always eats foreign chocolates but the foreign
chocolates cannot be customized as he wanted so he knocked us. I assured him that I would give
him the best quality of chocolates he wanted and his gf would love them. Later he let me know
that his gf really loved the chocolates, accepted his marriage proposal & he was so happy that he
wanted to send me his wedding invitation card to attend his wedding. He also ordered a basket full
of chocolates for his wedding dala. This was surely something memorable for me.
