My courtesy and respect to our principal, to our assistant to the

principal, to our Academic Head, to our curriculum heads, subject


coordinators, LAC coordinator, fellow teachers and volunteer
tutors, a pleasant morning to each and everyone!

It is my honor and privilege to welcome you all to this year’s first


School Learning Action Cell. We are indeed fortunate to be part of
this session since LAC had proven to be effective in engaging a
group of teachers in collaborating and solving shared challenges.
Further, LAC sessions encourage critical reflection amongst
teachers and participants which also increases the understanding
and knowledge of the curriculum and classroom practices.
Furthermore, this LACS’ theme is about “Creative Utilization of
Microsoft Office 365 and Canva as a Tool in Teaching” which we
considered to be timely and relevant especially at this time of
pandemic.

I believe we can all agree that technology is essential. Unless, of


course, you live on a deserted island! Even still, we are in the field
of teaching where innovations never stop. Nevertheless,
embracing technology isn’t always easy. From new apps to
updates, to the next big craze—keeping up can feel impossible.
But remember, utilizing technology doesn't have to be
overwhelming. Just take note of John Dewey’s quote, “If we teach
today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow”.
We can surely make a difference not just in ourselves but in the
lives of students, who just like us, want to have the best learning
experience they could have!

So my dear participants, sit back, relax and enjoy! Grab everything


that you could grab. Absorb everything that you could absorb, and
use every learning as your sword and shield to make you a better
person and of course, a better teacher. Remember, technology
won’t replace teachers, but teachers who use technology will
probably replace teachers who do not.
