Physical vs Chemical Changes Explained

1. Physical changes involve changes in the form or properties of a substance without changing its chemical composition. Examples include changes of state from solid to liquid to gas. 2. Chemical changes involve the rearrangement of the molecular or atomic structure of a substance, forming one or more new substances. Examples include burning fuel to form water and carbon dioxide. 3. Both physical and chemical changes occur when a candle burns. Physically, the wax melts and evaporates. Chemically, the wax molecules break apart and react with oxygen in the air to form new substances like carbon dioxide and water vapor.
