THE WORK FLOW FOR SERVICE ENGINEER

This document is procedure for this recall service.

1) Your company may receive service order from our service station, ship’s owner or
ship’s management company.

* Before you go to the ship, you must the whole confirm service work with Tokyo-
keiki Service department. The whole service work may include the outstanding
jobs other than the warranty.

2) You confirm the ship’s schedule with ship’s agency.

3) You inform ship’s owner or ship’s management company about the day you go to the
ship. And then you start the required procedure for visiting the ship for service.

4) You go to the ship.

* When you go to the ship, you must bring the relevant information about DF-10
PWB modification, modified DF-10 pwb, fuses for spare and warning plate.

5) You must explain to the captain about the details of the whole service work with
above information.

6) Before the work, you must confirm Auto pilot operation with the use of check sheet.

7) You start the work according to DF-10 PWB modification procedure.

* Refer to the attached document (“REPLACEMENT OF THE DF-10 PWB”).

8) After the work, you must confirm Auto pilot operation with the use of check sheet.

9) You must ask captain for the confirming of Auto pilot operation.

10) Adhere an “Emergency Steering Warning Plate” near mode selector switch or
system selector switch of autopilot if you could find it, and then explain about
emergency steering to captain with this plate.

11) You make a service report. (Work order number: 411-

* Refer to the attached document (SAMPLE OF SERVICE REPORT).

12) You must get captain’s signature and get the ship’s stamp for the service report and
for the Auto pilot operation check sheet. Then you must give one copy of service
report and Auto pilot operation check sheet to the captain.

* You don’t leave old DF-10 PWB on board. (You must bring back old DF-10 PWB
to your office).

13) After you come back to your office, you must immediately send the service report
and the check sheet to “DF-10 PWB Recall Center” at Tokyo-keiki, Japan by
e-mail.

* Could you please dispose of DF-10 PWB you replaced in your company?

Before starting this work, check the operation of steering gear and Autopilot. Record the results in the attached
Autopilot operation check sheet.

1. Required tools
・ Phillips screwdriver 4mm(Fig.1)
・ Phillips screwdriver 6mm(Fig.2)
・ Nippers(Fig.3) Fig.1
・ Multimeter (Tester) Fig.2 Fig.3
・ Insulating tape

2. Procedure
2.1 Remove the power supply unit

(1) Before starting this replacement work, must turn OFF the power switch on the control box <Fig.6>. Also
must turn OFF the power switch in the steering gear starter for AUTO PILOT <Fig.5>.
* Control box’s input power voltage is high voltage (AC440v or AC220v) and dangerous, therefore
you must turn off power supply.

(2) Open the cover of control box by unscrew eight screws (M6) <Fig.7>

(3) Measure the voltage at TB1-4/5 of the power input terminal with multimeter(tester).
(Range : 1000VAC) <Fig.9 and Fig.10>
Voltage should be no voltage (almost 0VAC).

(4) After confirming no voltage at TB1-4/5, remove the protective cover and disconnect the power cable (shown as
4 and 5 in Fig.11 and 12) from the terminal, then sealed by insulating tape to isolate and mark as 4 and 5 like
below Fig.12. Once power cable is disconnected, please return protection cover to the original location.

(5) Remove the cables which is connected to DMD-10 or DWD-10 PWB from the power supply unit.<Fig.13 and
Fig.14>

(6) Loosen (do not remove) two screws (M5) on the top of the power supply unit.<Fig.15>

Note: Weight of the power supply unit is 9kg (or 20LB).


Do not remove these screws, otherwise
power supply unit will fall down.

(7) Remove the eight screws (M5) of the power supply unit.<Fig.16>

(8) Put up to upper side, then pull it out to toward for your side.<Fig.17 and Fig.18>

Note: Weight of the power supply unit is 9kg. (or 20LB) Do not touch the PWB.

2.2 Replacement of DF-10 PWB

(1) Remove the six screws (M3) on the side of the fuse and terminal board.<Fig.19>

(3) Slide DF-10 PWB.<Fig.21>

(4) Remove the four screws (M4) and take out each harnesses. <Fig.22>

(5) Remove the six screws (M3) on the DF-10 PWB, then remove the six struts.

(6) Attach six screws (M3) and six struts to new DF-10 PWB.<Fig.24>

Harness No.3 → DF-10 PWB TB 3

Harness N0.5 → DF-10 PWB TB 5

(8) Return the DF-10 PWB to the original location/position.<Fig.26>


Note: Do not scratch the harness.

2.3 Restoration power supply unit


(1) Perform the process in the reverse order to remove the power supply unit.

(2) Confirm all screws are in position.


Check all cable connection (loosing, disconnecting etc).

(3) Connect to the power cable to the power input terminals TB1-4/5.

(4) Turn ON the power switch in the steering starter for AUTOPILOT.

(5) Measure with a multimeter(tester). (Range :1000ACV)


Measure the voltage at TB1-4/5 of the power input terminal.

(6) Check the power supply.

(7) Close the cover of the control box.

(8) Turn ON the power switch on the control box.

(9) 2-4 units of control box are installed as specification. Please perform this procedure for DF-10 in other control box

Check the operation of the steering gear and Autopilot. Record the results in the attached Autopilot operation
check sheet.
