Chapter 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

• Macro to micro development (global to local; general to specific)

• Identification of the two variables. Introduce and Define your

variables.

• Legal justification/legal basis of the research proposal

(It could be a portion of the constitution, a memorandum, a directive,

an official mandate, a policy, an on-going program etc. of the

government or of the agency/office. Its purpose is to show that the

research topic is in line with the research thrust and priorities of the

government or of the agency/office. Discuss the legal basis.)

• Cite personal justifications why you intend to conduct a research

on the topic/subject matter, how is it related to your strand?

• Last paragraph, rationale or objective of your research study. (This

part consists only of 3-5 Paragraphs with 5 sentences each.)

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Theoretical Framework

• State the theory or literature and the proponents must be

included, then relate it to the study.

• The discussion of your theory must be 1-2 paragraphs only with 5

sentences each.

Conceptual Framework

• With the theory or literature that has been stated and discussed in the

Theoretical Framework, conceptualize the ideas and illustrate it in a

research paradigm.

Statement of the Problem

1. (independent variable)

2. (dependent variable)

3. (relationship)

Hypothesis

Ho: There is no significant relationship between the……… and the

……………

Significance of the Study

• Identify who will be benefitted by the output of the study.

• Discuss per benefactor the benefit/s to be derived by each.

• This should be arranged by the greatest benefactor down to the

least.

• Minimum of 3, maximum of 5 only.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Scope and Limitation

• This portion answers the basic questions of what, where, when,

why and who.

• Your Scope and Limitation must be 1-2 paragraphs only with 5

sentences each.

Definition of Terms

• Define the important variables, theory/concept, respondents,

and other key or technical terminologies operationally. (Note: The

definitions must not copied from any dictionary or web searches,

the terminologies must be defined operationally, must be defined

“on how does it used in your research”)

• Arrange the terminologies/variables alphabetically.

• Minimum of 3, maximum of 5 only.

CHAPTER 2

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

This chapter presents the related literature and studies after the

thorough and in-depth search done by the researchers. This will also

present the synthesis of the art, theoretical, and conceptual framework

to fully understand the research to be done and lastly the definition of

terms for better comprehension of the study.

• Searched for related studies/researches, literatures, articles

that will support the variables of your study.

• Must include 2 related literatures on each variables, total of 4

related literatures.

• Discussion of RRL(Review of Related Literature) must be 1

paragraph each only, total of 4 paragraphs.

• DO NOT COPY PASTE! PLEASE PARAPHRASE!

• Please include and indicate the references after the discussion

of the last RRL(Review of Related Literature).

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Chapter 3

METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents all the necessary information about the

intended process of this study. This includes research design used in

conducting the study. In addition, the research locale, respondents of

the study, research instruments, and validation of instrument, data

gathering procedures, and treatment of quantitative data are also

discussed.

Research Design

• Indicate and explain whether your research is descriptive or an

exprimental type of research study.

• Search for a definition in the internet and explain why is it the

necessary/appropriate researcg design to be used. (Please

indicate also the proponents)

• This part is for 1-2 paragraphs only, with 5 sentences each.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Respondents and Locale of the Study

• Locale is a specified area and/or subject that is being studied in

a research project.

• Respondents are those who have been invited to participate in a

particular study and have actually taken part of the study.

• Identified your respondents and their location.

• Justify, why does this location and your respondents is the most

appropriate locale and respondent for your study.

• This part is for 1-2 paragraphs only, with 5 sentences each.

Data-Gathering Procedure

• The process of gathering and measuring information on variables

of interest in an established systematic fashion that enables one

to answer queries, stated research questions, test hypotheses and

evaluate outcomes.

• This part in a simple manner, is just the narrative on how do you

plan to gather the information needed in your study, or how do

you plan to conduct your study.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

• This part is for 1-2 paragraphs only, with 5 sentences each.

Instrumentation

• It states if your survey questionnaire is researcher-made (you, the

researchers will create your own questionnaire) or you adapt a

questionnaire from other studies (you will research for similar

studies, then you will use that to your own research.

• Just state whether you will adapt or create your own research

questionnaire.

• If you will adapt a research questionnaire, please indicate the title

of the research and it’s researchers.

• This part is for 1-2 paragraphs only, with 5 sentences each.

Validation of the Instrument

• It involves collecting and analyzing data to assess the accuracy

of an instrument.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

• In this part, you will just state the process on how your

questionnaire will undergo into such series of validation. (you can

just state or narrate that this researcher-made questionnaire will

be evaluated and validated by your SHS Teachers)

• This part is for 1-2 paragraphs only, with 5 sentences each.

Ethical Considerations

The ethical concerns were followed by the researcher as those

were taken into account throughout this paper. Consent was inquired

wherein the confidentiality was assured. All the necessary details were

explained by the researcher for them to understand their role upon the

completion of the study. Information personal to the respondents were

assured to have its confidentiality.

*** You can just copy the statement above for your Ethical

Considerations, or you can also write your own. (State your promise to

your respondents that whatever information they will give as part of the

data gathering, such information will be used for research purposes only.

• This part is for 1-2 paragraphs only, with 5 sentences each.
