1. Introduction
Arem mobile, gives us the possibility of wireless monitoring and adjusting the systems which are using the Arcode elevator
remote panel by using the smart devices. Alongside all the features of Arem hand terminal it has also additional features.
2. Installation
Following components are required for operation of Arem Mobile:
• Bluetooth enabled Android (IOS version will soon be available) smart device
• Arem Mobile Dongle connection module
• Arcode elevator remote panel
2.1. Installation of Arem Mobile App
2.1.1. Installation for Android devices
Download the program from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Arkel.ArkelAssistant adress or by searching for
“Arem Mobile” in Google Play.
2.1.2. Required permissions for Android devices
The app needs several permissions for operation. These permissions can change according to Android version of the device.
• “Storage” and “Media/Folder” access permissions: These permissions are necessary for storing the files such as Arcode
versions, driver graphics, etc. Without permission the app will not work.
• ”Bluetooth” access permission: You have to turn on your device’s Bluetooth because this app uses Bluetooth for
communication. Otherwise, the app will warn you and open the connection screen.
• “Location” access permission: This permission is required to find the Arcode connected Arem Dongle devices by the
Bluetooth scanning. This app has no access to your location.
In case of denying these permissions, the app will not operate and ask the required permissions again. You can adjust these
permissions in app or Android permission settings.

If you choose “Cellular data can also be used” checkbox (Figure 3), cellular data will also be used for download process. In this
case you may have to pay additional charge to your network sevice provider.

If you do not select the checkbox, download process will be made over wireless network. But later you can change this setting
in settings screen.
In case of choosing “OK”, the download will start if the device is connected to the internet. If it is not connected, it will be
automatically tried again later.

3.2. Connection
To use info and service screens, your phone must be connected to an Arem dongle device with Bluetooth. You can access the
connection screen by pressing Bluetooth icon (Figure 5) or choosing “OK” in the window which appears when you enter these
screens (Figure 6).

In connection screen, paired devices and, in case of pressing “Scan Bluetooth devices” button, discovered devices can be seen.

Device name is in “AREM-XXXXXXXX” format and the last 8 digits show the Arem Dongle device’s identity. This identity is
also written on the device’s label.
When you choose the name of the desired device, the connection will be made and the app will return to the previous screen.
3.3. Settings
You can access the settings screen by pressing the gearwheel icon ( ).
In this screen you can set the following settings:
• Current Language: The language you want to use. When you change the language, the texts will be shown in the
selected language.
• Check for new firmwares automatically: If selected, every 24 hours the app will connect to the Arkel servers to check
the Arcode versions to download automatically in case of new version is available.
• Use cellular data for firmware updates: If selected, alongside the wireless networks mobile network can also be used
in the automatic update process. In this case you may have to pay additional charge to your network service provider.
• Connect to the last device automatically: If selected, when you enter info or device screens, the app will automatically
try to connect to the last Arem Mobile Dongle device it was connected to. And if not selected, device selection is
required in every use of the app.
• Work offline: If selected, info and service screens will only show default values and you will not be forced to make a
Bluetooth connection. You can use this option for examining the app or parameter list without any connection.

3.5. Service Screens
In these screens you can affect the system operations. For example; you can change the device parameters, update the system,
do commisioning operations.

3.6.2. Refreshing the Error Logs
In case of scrolling down the error logs screen, the error logs will be updated.
3.6.3. Clearing the Error Logs
The error logs will be cleared and you will leave the page when you press the top right bin icon located in the error logs screen.
3.6.4. Parameter Fast Saving
When you press the top right disc icon in the device parameters screen, you can transfer the new parameters to the controller
without leaving the page. This icon is in inactive state when there are no parameter changes

3.6.5. Parameter Sharing
When you press the top right share icon in the device parameters screen, the available apps for sharing the parameters as “.arp”
file will be shown. For example, you can get help by sending these files to Arkel Technical Service over instant messaging apps.
Or you can open and examine these files over Arcode Parameter Editor application.
