Therapeutic Massage and Acupressure

Therapeutic Massage The reflexogenic action of massage is universally recognized to produce many physiological reactions in the body. Depending on the intensity and pace, massage can have either a stimulating or sedative effect. A well-executed general massage stimulates general tonus, increases energy, and produces a sensation of liveliness or relaxation and favoring of sleep. Acupressure is closely related to acupuncture in that it involves pressing precise points on the body's energetic meridians that are believed to allow the flow of cosmic energy. When a meridian is blocked, disease occurs, and pressing points can unlock blockages and eliminate unpleasant symptoms, restoring balance. Acupressure is a type of self-med

Therapeutic Massage

The reflexogenic action of massage and its importance in producing the multitude of physiological
reactions in the body is unanimously recognized.
The richness and the great spread of nerve endings - exteroceptors in the cutaneous and subcutaneous
tissues and proprioceptors in the musculotendinous and articular tissues - are the peripheral anatomic
substrate of receiving and processing the stimuli performed by the massage maneuvers, from where the
nerve inflows pass centripetally on reflex pathways central nerve floors. Skin areas are a well-defined
topography, whose nervous receptors correspond to certain tissues and organs.

Depending on the intensity and pace of applied massage procedures, they may have a stimulating effect or,
on the contrary, sedative effects. Exciting maneuvers stimulate nerve sensitivity, conductivity, and
reactivity, increase muscle tone, stimulate organ and tissue functions. The painkillers act in reverse.
Obviously, they apply differentially, depending on the nervous, muscular, general or regional tone, in the
sense of the intended purpose.

Regarding general massage, when it is well and properly executed, it generates a general tonus
stimulation, with increased energy capacities, with a sensation of liveliness, lust for life (when applied
according to stimulating methodology) or on the contrary produces a relaxation, general relaxation (when
sedative techniques are used), favoring sleep.

Acupressure

When it hurts our head, neck, or mass, we instinctively appeal to an acupuncture technique, pressing our
hands with the place. Massage is an innate science that traditional oriental medicine, practiced for more
than three millennia in China and Japan, has transformed it into a true art of healing, based on a highly
accurate massage system.

Acupressure is closely related to acupuncture. If acupuncture is done by inserting very thin needles,
acupressure consists in pressing with the tip of the fingers on the same points used in acupuncture. In both
cases, there are precise places on the energetic meridians of the human body, the Chinese and Japanese
being convinced - according to their traditional medicine - that the body is crossed by some energy
networks permanently connected to the cosmic energy, which constantly feeds them, as a real fuel.

When one of these channels of "irrigation" that we find in a network of circulating networks, called
meridians, is blocking, disease occurs. In order for it to be removed, we call on the fingers with precise
points, the unlocking being produced immediately. Unpleasant symptoms are eliminated, restoring
physical and mental balance.

Acupressure is typical self-medication because it does not require helpful tools, it can be learned easily
and practiced anywhere, simply, quickly, without side effects. Therefore, in China and Japan, it occupies
an important place in the healthcare provided to the population, giving up the poisoning, often
unnecessary, with medication.

It can be used successfully in the self-treatment of insomnia, depression, anxiety.
