Chapter 1

Tourism has always been one of the most attractive and interesting kinds of
time spending for millions of people. Tourist visit places because of curiosity and
adventure. Tourism industry is very profitable and it is considered as an economical
saviour for the countries and they are very attractive by their historical places and
rich architecture. The nature tourism, brings economic value. Nature preservation
should come first, ahead of development for the sake of tourism. Lapu-Lap u City is
a heritage and cultural resort where tourism industry is considered as the bread and
butter. By simply restoring, preserving the natural beauty of our environment,
preventing pollution as well as human destruction will bring huge impact towards the
growth and development of the island.

The conservation of our stunning natural resources will increased with the
help of the government, ensured peace and order especially in some parts of our city
can further boost our tourism industry. Our white sand beaches, clear seas, and
wonderful underwater coral reefs are one of the best places in the world. And lastly,
through local cooperatives, locals should be given opportunities to get involved in the
tourism industry.

The used of modern technologies, through social media platforms they were
able to showcase the hidden paradise of Barangay Punta Engaño in the city of Lapu
–Lapu. The researcher’s goal is to unveil the secluded destination of the island by
giving birth, name and fame of Kalipayan Seaside Private Beach Place. Throughout
this study the researcher’s aims to touch the history on how it was all started along
with how they keep the beauty of the place without destroying nature. Kalipayan
Seaside Private Beach Place has so much things to offer such as, snorkelling, cliff
diving, boating and their very famous floating cottages. It is a perfect destination to
run away from a stressful day and relax from the negativity of the society with your
family and friends.

On August 2019, Ms. Joely D. Uy the owner of Kalipayan Seaside Private


Beach Place open her door to accept guest and opportunities of her growing beach
house. It is named “Kalipayan Seaside Private Beach Place” since it is located at
Sitio Kalipayan Punta Engaño. According to the owner they never expected that their

business will make a noise on social media platforms. They are still on the process
on enhancing their beach house to gain more potential tourist as well as confident
enough to compete with other local beach houses on the island. They’re might be on
the process of developing and enhancing their beach place but, the level of
competency that they are showing is sufficient to stand and promote that locals have
something to be proud of.

In the event that you don’t need to be stock on traffic from Mandaue City to
Lapu-Lapu City, needed a bother free transportation there's presently a speedy

tourism activity. Travellers and tourists need lodging
for rest, while they are on a tour. Accommodation in
the form of low budget lodges or hotels to world class
luxury accommodations is available at all the major
tourist destinations to provide the tourist a home
away from home. The “Kalipayan Seaside Private
Beach Place” proves that local tourist spots can stand
and compete in the tourism industry. As they prove
that the accommodations, services nor products can
satisfy the needs of the tourist. The accommodation
that they provide can sustain the trust and loyalty of
the guest as they showcase the locally made

and relax.

ACCESSIBILITY  Punta Engano is the tipping point of the island of
Lapu-Lapu city we can’t hide the fact that getting out
there is not quite easy especially it is far from the
center city. It is great to know that the Lapu-Lapu City

the first section analyses the latest views in the tourism field, some of the marketing
tools adopted to promote a specific tourist spot. Destination branding, image
management, consumer behaviour, the economy of experience and tourist loyalty
are some of the concepts stressed throughout this paper.

In order to better understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and


threats of tourism development strategies undertaken it is necessary to understand
what Kalipayan Seaside Private Beach Place can actually offer. With this aim, the
attracting factors that may transform into a Kalipayan Seaside Private Beach Place
authentic tourism destination are presented. Attracting tourists and reposition are all
inseparable chain links of a positive image and which follow subsequently with a
significant improvement in all economic disciplines involving tourism.

The strengths and opportunities can be worked as one for the betterment of

enhancements. The main problem that we focused on is that, the limits of occupancy
area and the shortage of water since it is located at the tipping point of Lapu-Lapu
city which is in the barangay Punta Engano. The researchers are trying to undergo
some procedures to prevent possible threats for it will largely affect the growing
destination. A nearby beach place with better product and facilities is one of the
possible threats that the tourist spot could face. Due to the inconsistent service and
product quality, tourists will surely look for another destination that will satisfy their
wants and needs. Since it is natured based tourism we can’t prevent the possibility of

the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats are a great help on how to
examine on what are the things that need to pull in and pull out. Nonetheless, in the
true nature of the human soul tourism continues to be one of the fastest growing
industry around the Globe.

The case study approaches the sustainable tourism topic, which is discussed
at local level and has a significant impact upon the economic development image of
Lapu-Lapu City. Its objectives are to minimize the negative effects on the
environment, to protect the eco-system and also to offer learning opportunities,
including benefits for the local economy and contributing to the structural
development of local communities. The research methods used are secondary data
analysis, comparisons, analogies and syntheses, primary qualitative research. It
aims at identifying: the current situation of Kalipayan Seaside Private Beach Place,
the community's point of view regarding tourism development and, also identifying
opportunities for sustainable tourism development. The research results show that
both the local administration and the owners are aware of the poor condition of local
tourism, but they have also shown optimism about the future possibilities of restoring
the initial economic well-being of the period. In this regard, predictions are that tourist
arrivals will increase due to the rehabilitation of tourist spots, the future improvement
of infrastructure and the increasing quality of accommodation services.
