Instrument are used to measure the units, like flow, pressure, weight etc. Instrument is a
part of the equipment. Equipment consists of one or more instruments to
perform different kind of activity. For example: weight balance is a equipment.

The Applied Biosystems 7500 Real-Time PCR System uses fluorescence based PCR for the
qualitative detection of DNA/RNA using end-point or dissociation-curve analysis. It is a 96
well, five-colour platform that is calibrated for the use of a broad range of fluorophores that
includes FAM™⁄SYBR® Green I, VIC®⁄JOE™, NED™⁄ TAMRA™⁄ Cy3™, ROX™⁄Texas Red®, and
Cy5™ dyes. An advanced algorithm designed to minimize spectral cross talk optimizes this
five-dye platform for multiplexing. Its optical system contains a CCD camera, halogen lamp
excitation, five excitation and emission filters and allows for the calibration of custom dyes
that fall within its excitation and emission wavelength ranges without requiring additional
filter sets. It comes with user-friendly software that allows for multi-plate data viewing and
consists of advanced data analysis tools that enable efficient data processing.
