Ural Turbine Works (ROTEC Holding, the Renova Group) was set up as successor of turbine manufacturing Turbomotor plant and is still carrying
on its glorious traditions. Turbines have been manufactured here since 1938. For eight decades, the plant’s team has created a number of unique
machines that have become the pride of Russian power engineering: the most powerful series cogeneration turbine T-295, the most common in the
former Soviet Union – turbine T-100, gas pumping units for Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod route, various models of turbines for combined cycle and
others. More than half (in terms of power) of cogeneration turbine units being operated in the CIS countries are produced by Ural turbine engineers.
Moreover, turbines produced by TMW are installed in Eastern Europe, Italy, Egypt, Mongolia, China, Korea, India and Japan. Nowadays, the plant
exports its products to Kazakhstan, Belarus, Mongolia and Serbia.
Today, Ural Turbine Works develops and produces steam cogeneration turbines of medium and high capacity; condensing turbines; combined-
cycle plants; backpressure steam turbines; exhaust steam turbines; ship turbines, as well as providing services for maintenance and modernization
of energy equipment. Many years of experience in designing turbines, commercial production of a wide range of machines allow UTW to meet the
needs of each customer. When creating new and improving manufactured turbines, current trends of energy, gas industry development are taken into
account. However, despite the diversity of models produced, the plant uses well-tested fundamental solutions, standard design units and compo-
nents which provides sufficient batch production, improves reliability and makes the turbines easier to operate and repair.
Since 2006, UTW equips its turbines with new electro-hydraulic control and protection system (EHCPS), electric part of them holds modern
microprocessor controllers. The plant's products meet the highest standards: quality management system complies with ISO 9001:2015 and is
confirmed by the British Standards Institution (BSI) annually. Technological and institutional standards, competence of the plant’s personnel,
production and products (services) safety meet the requirements of «EnSERTIKO» voluntary certification system. UTW has a certificate of conformity
of the Customs Union that ensures the quality of the products to comply with all standards of TR TS 010/2011 technical regulations. UTW has licenses
of Nuclear Supervision of the Russian Federation for design and manufacture of equipment for nuclear power units installed at nuclear power plants,
ships and boats with nuclear reactors. The plant’s laboratories have undergone technical competence check in accordance with the requirements of
the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. UTW is implementing an extensive investment program, which envisages radical renewal of production.

SERIES OF TURBINES Т-250/300-240 FOR SUPERCRITICAL STEAM PARAMETERS
The series includes the base turbine Т-255/305-240-5 and four of its
modifications:Т-285/335-240*,Т-265/305-240-С, Т-250/305-240-Д
and Т-250/305-240-ДБ.These turbines are intended for use at large
power plants, which supply heat and hot water to metropolises and
cities. They are highly efficient under heat-extraction conditions and
at the same time rather economical at purely condensing (summer)
conditions. The turbine type Т-265/305-240-С is designed for power
plants with a reduced (to 0.3) extraction factor (CHPP) (instead of
0.5-0.6 of the base model), that is appropriate for power plants
located within city boundaries.
For this purpose, the flow rate of the heating-system water through the
heating system heaters is increased and the extraction pressure is slightly
lowered. The maximum heating of the heating-system water is limited to
106 °C. The turbines type Т-250/305-240-Д and Т-250/305-240-ДБ are
designed for remote power plants located 30-35 km away from a
city. The heating-system water is heated in three stages to tempera-
ture of 150 °С (in case of the base model, in two stages to 117°С). The
turbine with «Д» index is installed in circuits with a deaerator of 7
kgf/cm2, while the turbine indexed «ДБ» is intended for deaerator-
free circuits where the continuous mixing low-pressure heater (LPH) installed in each flow of the LPC. If three-stage heating is used, the
No. 2 acts as the deaerator. All turbines of the series are designed as adjustment is realized with a regulating valve mounted in the third heating
single-shaft four-cylinder units. They vary in the design of the stage of the extraction pipeline. Currently, UTW is preparing to release an
second intermediate pressure cylinder (IPC-2). In case of one- and upgraded model of the turbine of T-250/300-240 series with increased
two-stage heating of the heating-system water, the pressure of the capacity and higher temperature of live steam and reheat steam. The turbine
steam delivered to the user is adjusted with regulating diaphragms will be marked T-295/335-23,5.

25-35, 12-18 and 8-12 kgf/cm2. On customer’s choice, either or any two
of these extractions can be used as well as non-extraction operation.
The pressure of steam supplied to the user from these extractions is
maintained with control valves in the extraction pipelines.
Both turbines of this series have two-stage heating of the heating-
system water. The extraction steam pressure is controlled with
regulating diaphragms mounted in each flow of the LPC.
The turbines are single-shaft three-cylinder units with a unified flow
passage. The turbines indexed «2» and «4» are equipped with exhaust
rotor blades 830 mm and 660 mm long and their design temperature of
cooling water is 20 °C and 27 °C respectively.

SERIES OF TURBINES Т-120/130-130

The series consists of the base turbine Т-110/120-130-5М* and its
four modified versions: Т-116/125-130-7М, Т-120/130-130-8М,
Т-120/130-130-12,8 and ТР-110-130 (back-pressure). The turbines of
this series are intended for newly constructed or extended power
stations serving large or medium-size cities. Considering that the
thermal load of these power stations is often uncertain or is not provided
during initial years of operation, the T-100 turbine has been designed as
a partially universal one: it operates rather efficiently both under various
thermal loads and at straight-condensing conditions. The turbine can
run at thermal schedule regimes (with back-pressure) when the built-
in condenser banks are cooled with makeup or heating system water. It
has a rather developed low-potential section, a condenser group with an
optimal flow rate of cooling water, and a developed regenerative
system. Many advanced solutions worked out for extraction turbines
have been implemented in this turbine. It has been constantly improved
and has passed five modernizations (index «5»).
Thanks to the above merits, T-120/130-130 series have been
produced as a largest series ever known (over two hundred turbines).
The modified versions differ from the base turbine in the flow rate of
live steam and, therefore, in nominal power and thermal load. Besides, turbines operate in base-load conditions. The same solution can be

SERIES OF TURBINES Тп-115/125-130

This series is intended for technical re-equipment of power stations through their
extension or replacement of obsolete turbines rated at 25, 50 and 100 MW. The turbines
can be installed at newly constructed power stations as well. The series of turbines
Тп-115/125-130* has been developed on the basis of the turbine Т-110/120-130-5.
However, taking into account that the turbines of this series are installed in turbine halls
of existing power stations, they are have two-cylinder design and a simplified regenera-
tive system (one HPH and one LPH are removed), one condenser instead of two
condensers, and lower flow rate of cooling water. Since boiler equipment is usually
replaced later than turbines, the turbines of this series can continuously operate (if so
stated in the order) on live steam with p0= 90 kgf/cm 2 (8.8 MPa) and t0= 535 °C with
subsequent change-over to live steam with p0= 130 kgf/cm2 (12.8 MPa) and t0= 555°C
when required.
The series comprises three models: Тп-115/125-130-1М, Тп-115/125-130-2М, and
Тп-115/125-130-3. In addition to the main heating steam extractions, all the three
turbines provide limited auxiliary process steam extraction (indexed with small Russian
letter «п»).

SERIES OF TURBINES ПТ-90/120-130/10
The series includes three turbines: ПТ-90/120-130/10-1*,
ПТ-90/125-130/10-2 and ПТР-90/100-130/10. Like other turbines of the
group, the turbines of this series are based on the turbine Т-110/120-130-5.
They can be used for technical re-equipment of existing power stations
or can be installed at newly constructed plants. All turbines have a
simplified regenerative system. The turbines ПТ-90/120-130/10-1 and
ПТ-90/125-130/10-2 feature reduced flow rate of cooling water and can
run, if so stated in the order, on live steam with p0= 90 kgf/cm2 (8.8 MPa)
and t0= 535 °C.
The turbines indexed «1» and «2» are equipped with last stage blades
550 mm and 660 mm long respectively. Therefore, when deciding which
model to order, consider the information presented in Section 6 for the
turbines Tп-115/125-130 indexed «1» and «2».
The turbine ПТР-90/100-130/10 has no condensing plant (con-
denser, circulating and condensate pumps) and does not require
circulating water supply. As a result, the thermal circuit of the power
plant is simplified, the cost is reduced, and the labor input to the
manufacture and installation of the turbine plant is lowered. However,
the turbine can operate continuously only if an all-year-round
thermal (heating) load is provided.

STEAM TURBINES FOR COMBINED-CYCLE POWER PLANTS
Currently, issues concerning development of modern equipment
operating as part of combined-cycle power plants (CCPPs) are be-
coming more and more vital. Providing succession of UTW steam
turbine manufacture design solutions, the company has worked over
CCPP version with capacity 95 – 450 MW. The standard CCPP includes
one or two gas turbines, one or two waste-heat boilers and one steam
turbine with the appropriate number of generators.
For CCPPs with capacity of 90…115 MW, UTW offers single-shaft
co-generation steam turbine Т-40/50-8,8.
For two-circuit CCPPs with capacity of 170...230 MW, co-generation
steam turbines Т-53/67-8,0, Т-63/76-8,8 and Kт-63-7,7 (see the Table
below) are recommended. On the basis of this turbine, the plant can also
manufacture condensing turbines with capacity of 60…70 MW.
For three-circuit CCPPs with resuperheating and capacity of 400…450
MW, UTW offers co-generation steam turbine Т-113/145-2,4 (see the
Table below), which, with its design preserved, but depending on different
steam parameters, may also bear designations from Т-100/130-12,0 to
Т-125/150-12,6. On the basis of this turbine, the plant can also manufac-
ture condensing turbines with capacity of 130…150 MW.

BOTTOM TURBINES
For its customers the Ural Turbine Works also offers bottom type
turbines, which are operated from heating and process steam extraction
headers of turbine types ПР, ПТР, TР, P, ПТ, П and T, when they are not
loaded to its purpose. Steam extraction for heating is possible on the
turbines operated from the process header. Incomplete loading of
heating extraction can occur in spring-autumn period; during summer,
the loading can be zero. Process steam extraction may be reduced or
zero, when the number of process steam consumers is limited. Absence
of steam consumption from the exhaust of turbine type P leads to its
complete shutdown. Decrease of process steam extraction from turbine
types П, Т and P reduces the power capacity of the turbo-generator set.
In these cases installation of exhaust-steam turbines allows complete
loading of the existing turbines and provides their operation at the most
efficient design conditions. Besides, the electric power output of power
plants increases due to installation of new turbines with comparatively
low capital inputs, as installation of new power-generating boilers is not
required.
