 LEARNERS INTRODUCTION

Work Immersion refers to the subject of the Senior High School Curriculum,

which involves hands-on experience or work simulation in which learners can apply their
competencies and acquired knowledge relevant to their track. A Senior High School
student has to undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates to the
student's postsecondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to
and become familiar with work-related environment related to their field of specialization
to enhance their competence. Work immersion proper is the actual deployment of
students to their respective employer which is the partner institution of the school they
belong. This is an actual training of the student's in real workplace to test the student’s
skills and applied what they have learned in school.

Specifically, the students are able to gain relevant and practical industrial skills
under the guidance of industry experts and workers; appreciate the importance and
application of the principles and theories taught in school; enhance their technical
knowledge and skills; enrich their skills in communications and human relations; and
develop good work habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work. These prepare
them to meet the needs and challenges of employment or higher education after
graduation. Work immersion will help develop among learner’s life and career skills,
and will prepare them to make decisions on postsecondary education or
employment.

The importance of work immersion must be seen as vital point of giving students

a venue to improve themselves through experiencing real stuff firsthand. It helps
students to acquire knowledge and experience that can help them grow as professional
individuals.  Immersion programs relocate individuals into an unfamiliar environment for
a period of time for the purpose of providing meaningful learning opportunities. For
maximum effect, the individual must be receptive to the social, cultural and/or political
circumstances into which they have been placed.
 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First and foremost, praises and thanks to the God, the Almighty, for his showers
of blessings throughout this work to complete this activity successfully.

I would like to express my deep and sincere gratitude to my adviser, Mr.

Demetrio Valdez, and to our beloved school head, Dr. Maxima M. Javier for giving me
the opportunity to do these work immersion activities. Their vision, sincerity, and
motivation have deeply inspired me. It was a great privilege and honor to work and
study under his guidance. I am extremely grateful for what he has offered me. I would
also like to thank him for his empathy, friendship, and great sense of humor. I am
extending my heartfelt thanks to the other teachers who supported me and guided
throughout this research.

To my friends and classmates who helped me and supports me throughout the

activities, they are always there to guide me, I would like to express my sincere
gratitude for their openness and truthfulness as my partners in my studies.

I am extremely grateful to my parents and love ones for their love, and caring for
educating, motivating, and preparing me for my future. I am also very much thankful to
my friends who helped me in the operations of the research. My Special thanks goes to
my cousin, Andrian B. Lumanglas, who helped me and allowing me to use his computer
and printer in doing this portfolio. Without him, I will not be able to finish my portfolio
successfully.
 ACCOMPLISHMENT

Studying work immersion has developed my knowledge and skills about the
future path of my career and makes me become more aware on the real life work place
environment. This is one of my big stepping stones to pursue the career that I have
chosen and this encourages me to work hard straight to success.

Throughout the semester under the new normal, I have a lot of learnings that I
can apply in my career in the future. Although the modular distance learning has
brought us many challenges, I have learned to adapt from these changes and be more
resourceful in the activities in this subject. It is disappointing in some point that we were
not able to work in a real life working environment, however it is understandable
because of the pandemic restrictions. On the other hand, our teachers give their bests
to give us the best experience we can have in our immersion subject. They have
conducted events and seminars online that shares us many perspectives from different
people who are exceeding in their careers. They thought us about everything we need
to know in the initial working practices. This really helps us to be encouraged to pursue
our dreams and careers.

Thus, the experience is fun and as a student of senior high school, I am glad that
I have accomplished this subject. This gives us many learnings that we can use in the
future.
 MOCK INTERVIEW

A mock interview really is just a practice interview for a job interview. In this
environment, you can test your answers to tough questions, create and improve
strategies and enhance your communication skills and delivery of your responses. This
is a great experience where I have practiced to answer the questions given by the
interviewer. I deal with this activity seriously because I think of it as an actual job
interview. I really experienced extreme nervousness and pressure that makes my
answers a little shaky. But I enjoy the activity because Sir Demy and Sir Rowel are very
good instructors and they really try to understand what I am saying even I cannot deliver
it in English so well. I am very thankful for their effort and guidance.

 REFLECTION

Work immersion is a stage where the graduating students can show their skills
and talents when it comes to their chosen courses. And also, because of this work
immersion, they can also apply what they’ve had been learned during their classes
hour. This immersion really a beneficial for the students to enhance their skills and to
enlighten their minds for the things that they are lack of. And this work immersion is
considered as the stepping stone for the students to practice and develop their self for
what they have chosen. During this stage, students may realize how their chosen
courses it may be work in the future so that they have learned an idea what their course
will bring, if it’s really suits to them or they found it a boring one. Working hours is really
important because it is considered as you record in order to accomplish the working day
that have given to each students. As a graduating student, Work immersion made me
realized for all thing that I lack of and change me to become a better one. During our
immersion, I’ve learned a lot of things that I can used in the near future. Work
immersion is really a beneficial for me because it is where I discover the thing I can’t
imagine to do. And on this stage I will say that I was thankful because I encountered
and experience this, because I have now the idea what will bring my chosen course to
me in the near future and I am looking forward for that.
