Quentin Trollip designed a pocket knife origami model inspired by Jeremy Shafer's "Swiss Army Knife" design. The design uses a single square of paper and involves 25 steps to complete the folding. It is an intermediate level fold that takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Thin foil or glassine paper works well but can pose challenges in some steps. The completed model resembles a pocket knife but is not intended to be sharp or functional.

This design was obviously Design and diagram info:

inspired by the one designed Date: 1 March 2000
by Jeremy Shafer. I had seen Difficulty: Intermediate
Jeremy’s “Swiss Army Time to fold: 30 min
Knife” on an internet photo
and then tried designing my Crease Pattern: Paper:
own. It is a very old design Single Uncut Square
and quite simple to fold. Size: 20cm
Color: Red - Silver
Thin, foil paper gives a good

result (but changing the

orientation of creases in step

foil). I have also had a good
result with foil on glassine Ratio: 1.0 Length
paper.

You can also try to fold the

model from the CP to
minimise unwanted creases.

Disclaimer: To prevent self-surgery, do not place this

(un-aptly named) Pocket Knife in your
pocket! It was not made by the Swiss
(like Jeremy' action model), and so the
blades can not be folded in!
