UNILEVER

History of the Organization :


Unilever is a British transnational consumer goods company co-
headquartered in London, England and Rotterdam,
Netherlands. Its products include food, energy drink, ice cream
and beverages, cleaning agents, beauty products, and personal
care products. Unilever Bangladesh Limited is a consumer
goods based in Dhaka, Bangladesh and founded in 1964,
engaged in the manufacture and distribution of home care
products, personal care products and foods. It is a joint venture
of the Government of Bangladesh and Unilever.
Unilever holds 39.6% of its share. The company was formerly
known as Lever Brothers Bangladesh Ltd. And changed its name
in December 2014. Unilever Bangladesh on 6 September 2018
became the Bangladesh National Cricket team, Women Cricket
Team, Under-19 Team sponsor for the period of 2018 to 2020.
Every day, 2.5 billion people use products from Unilever to look
good, feel good. That’s about one third of the global population
choosing from household names such as Lipton, Knorr, Dove
and Hellmann's and iconic local brands like Bango in Indonesia
and Suave in US. In fact thirteen of the world’s top 50 brands
are owned by Unilever. Our geographic reach give us an
unparalleled global presence, including a unique position in
emerging markets which generate 58% of our turnover. Our
business activities span a complex, global value chain. Unilever
work with thousands of suppliers and spend around £34 billion
on goods and services, including approximately £13 billion on
ingredients and raw materials, which are made into products in
our 300+ factories across 69 countries.

Vision :
Unilever’s corporate vision is “ to make sustainable living
commonplace. We believe this is the best long-term way for
our business to grow.” This vision statement puts emphasis on
sustainability, especially among consumers. The following

Mission:
In the last five years, Unilever has built business by focusing on
its brands streamlining their work, improving insight into the
evolving needs and tastes of consumers. Unilever's mission is to
strengthen life of the Peoples of Bangladesh.

out of life.”

Goals :
By 2030 our goal is to have the environmental footprint of the
making and use of our products we grow our business. Unilever
will enhance the livelihoods of millions of people as we grow
our business.

Unilever Brands :
Unilever has a portfolio of about 400 brands globally. However
many of these are local that can only be found in certain
countries, e.g. Fair & Lovely. In Bangladesh the number of
UBL's existing brands is 18 which are categoriesed in different
sections. The brands fall almost entirely in two categories :

 Home and personal care brands

Organogram of Unilever :
In terms of Unilever, they have two chairmen leading the
company worldwide. They have seven top directors leading
seven different department. They have divided their worldwide
business into different region and have different groups to
manage them.
Unilever Bangladesh limited falls under the Southeast Asian
region. On a more micro scale, Unilever Bangladesh Ltd. which
overseas operation in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The chairman of Unilever Bangladesh limited is known as the
managing director. The management staff of the company
consists of six layers, starting from junior manager (who are
local managers) to manager grade 5 (who are Unilever
managers). Apart from this the company also hires many non
management staff as well as operatives to work in the factories.
Unilever Bangladesh Limited Structured in the following
