What is self-awareness?
• Self awareness is having a clear perception of your personality,
including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and
emotions. Self Awareness allows you to understand other people,
how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in
the moment.
• Self-awareness is the ability to focus on yourself and how your
actions, thoughts, or emotions do or don't align with your internal
standards. If you're highly self-aware, you can objectively evaluate
yourself, manage your emotions, align your behavior with your
values, and understand correctly how others perceive you.

Example:
•Being able to focus on something •Learn about your emotional

How do I know if I am self-aware?


• If you're highly self-aware, you can objectively evaluate yourself,
manage your emotions, align your behavior with your values, and
understand correctly how others perceive you." Put simply, those
who are highly self-aware can interpret their actions, feelings, and
thoughts objectively.

Ways to Become More Self-Aware

You have to know:

• What drives your passion?


• What you are good at?
• Who are your friends?
• How do you react to things (little or big things)
• What are your goals in life?

People with strong self-awareness skills can:

• Recognize their strengths and challenges


• Understand and talk about their needs and feelings
• Recognize other people’s needs and feelings
• See how their behavior affects others
• Develop a growth mindset and learn from their mistakes

What is self-management?
•Self-management is our ability to manage our behaviors, thoughts,
and emotions in a conscious and productive way.
•Self-management means you understand your personal responsibility
in different aspects of your life, and you do what you need to fulfill that
responsibility.
•Self-management is the ability to recognize your emotions and control
the behaviors sparked by those emotions. (I.e a person showing self-
management is able to calm down, not yell or act out, in moments of
anger or frustration)

Self-management skills are:


• Your ability to regulate and control your actions, feelings, and thoughts
• problem solving,
• resisting stress,
• communicating clearly,
• managing time,
• strengthening memory,
• And exercising often are all key examples of self-management skills.
