Following approval by the ASME B16 Committee and ASME, and after public review, ASME B16.5a-
1998 was approved by the American National Standards Institute on February 20, 1998.
‘Addenda to the 1996 edition of ASME B16.5 are issued in the form of replacement pages. Revision
additions, and deletions are incorporated directly into the affected pages. It is advisable, however, that
page, the Addenda title and copyright pages, and all replaced pages be retained for reference.
