The Hotel Reservation system provides you with a means to control the workstations,
manage customer database, sell products and generate detailed reports and statistics.

To design the Hotel Reservation System using XAMPP server and Browser.
 CHAPTER 2

ABSTRACT

The project “Hotel reservation System” is a system based on a accessing the internet to
book for rooms in hotel. The purpose of this study is to develop and implement an online hotel
reservation system for hotels, that will replace the manual method of booking for hotel rooms.
The previous system for booking rooms were faced with so many problems like, delay in
processing the customer booking or paying for rooms that is below or beyond his standard,
causes difficulty for emergency booking.

The objects-oriented analysis and design methodology (OOADM) was therefore used to
analyse the system in order to discover the various objects involved and how they interact with
one another so that a new and improved system can be defined.. It increases benefits of ten times
customer &student.

The use of online view of room rates and uploading of available rooms and facilities
was used for the new system so that the customer can view and make his choice before arrival,
and also in the case of emergency travelling. This new system assisted the hotel owners in
managing their hotels, because they can also regulate the receptionist moves and avoid
fraudulent activities. It also increased the efficiency of the hotel managers and also their profit
margin, once they have a better and good facilities.
 CHAPTER 3

INTRODUCTION

The manual method of booking for hotel rooms in Nigeria is characterized with
numerous problems. Some of these are :customers having little or no information about the
hotels within their vicinity; A guest checking into a hotel room that is either too expensive or too
unbefitting for his/her personality ;Prolonged delay by the receptionist in retrieving certain
information about any particular guest that checked into the hotel whenever such information
being demanded by the manager ;The foul play that sometimes occurs when information about
the guest that checked into a hotel are not officially documented by the receptionist etc. All these
problems and more would definitely make a hotel experience a down turn in business.
The main purpose of this work is therefore to develop a web application program that
would circumvent all those problems encountered in the manual hotel booking system ,so that
customers can easily go online with their mobile phones ,tablets or laptops in order to browse the
relevant information they need about the hotels within their locality so that they can book for the
appropriate suite that is within their budget..
Web services technology is based on the concept of services-oriented computing. web
services are standard that integrated web-based application through connecting and sharing of
business process across the network where application of different vendors, languages, and
platform communicate which other and with customer and student. Web application refer to
application access via web browser Over a network and develop using browser supported
languages (e.g. HTML, bootstrap, CSS, PHP. For execution, web application depend on web
browser and include many familiar application such as online retail sale, online action and web
mail, web application needed in the area of business Interaction over network, e.g. for overseas
companies that outsource project each other. The adoption of a web application infrastructure
can provide vital processes such as transfer of funds and updates of pricing information.
Briefly, website design means planning, creation and updating of websites. website
design also involves information architecture, website structure, user interface, navigation
economics, website layout, colors, contrast, fonts and imaginary (photography) as well as icons
design.
 All these website elements combined together from websites. Often, the meaning of
“design” is perceived slowly as a visual aspect. In reality, website design includes more abstract
elements such as usability, economics, layout tradition, user habits, navigation logic and other
things that simplify the using of websites and helps to find information faster.
Sometimes the technical side of website design is emphasized in the design of design.
Surely, the modern website building involves server side scripting like php, asp and websites
visual side is defined with html and css, user experience is enhanced with dynamic php and html.
When talking to people with poor technical knowledge, instead of speaking about technical
details, we concentrate on functionalities. e.g. to what extent it is possible to update a website
through content management system and feature are visible to users.

PROJECT DESIGN
5.1 Feasibility study:

The purpose of feasibility study is to investigate deeply the recommended system.

Feasibility study is carried out to describe and evaluate the proposed system. The study will be
justified whether the project is feasible or not and whether. It is worthwhile or not. Therefore,
feasibility study of proposed system need to be carried out in order to:
 Provide a better understanding of system.
 Clarity objective in the proposed system.
 Access and recommended what course of auction should take for the solution proposed.
 Described the outputs.

There are many factors to access when analysing whether the proposed system is feasible should
be adopted.
 Technical feasibility
 Economical feasibility
 Time feasibility
 Resource feasibility.

In order to the technical and economical feasibility, the system comparisons are carried out
between the proposed system and existing system, so that the proposed system can be easily
taken over.

5.1.1 Technical feasibility:

Feasibility deals with some factor such as:
 The technical feasible?
 It is within the state of art?
 What hardware and software are required?
  Is the proposed system technically?

The compatibility of backend (MY SQL) and front end HTML is already well proven.
The backend is capable of handling multiple plugins and voluminous data. The front end with its
effective and easy to use development tool we make the development easier and reliable. This
means that the necessary technology that is required to perform development is available.

5.1.2 Economical feasibility:

Cost benefits analysis is frequently used method for evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed
system.it is important because management must authorize the budget of the project. It
determines how the aim of the project can be achieve with limited resources.
The economical feasibility of the system is evaluates on the basis of the benefits of the
proposed system. Costs include for implementation of proposed system are:
 Cost of additional hardware and software.
 Cost of training.
 Stationary cost.
 Electrical cost.

As resources for system like hardware and software are already available in the
organization, on other overhead on these account is required. Above that effect required for the
development and implementation of the system was outweighed by the benefits.

5.1.3 Time Feasibility:

Time feasibility is mainly concurred with how the time management of the project work is
distributed and how much time is given to particular section of the project.it is mainly concerned
with the all phases of the project development. It gives the information about the time utilization
while developing the system project.
5.1.4 Resource Feasibility:

Resource feasibility consist of all the resources which are required for Employee management
system. In these section we consider whether resources required is easily available.

5.2 Design and analysis:

5.2.1 Use Case Diagram:

A use case is a scenario that described the use of system by an actor to accomplish a specific
goal.

SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION

System implementation means putting a planned web application into action. This is stage
of web development in which hardware and software are acquired, developed and installed the
system is tested and documented.
People are trained to operate to use the system and organization converts to the user newly
developed system.

6.1 Important Function:-

 It is provide MySQL library to in tract with MySQL
 PHP support different type of contain management system like bootstrap css all cms
software are open source.
 It is programing language of html language and web page.
 PHP support number of object oriented programing.

6.2 Important Algorithm:-

HOW TO ESTABLISH MY SQL DATABASE CONNECTION

Before you compile the project you have set the MYSQL database connection then only it will
work properly.

1. Click the start button in open the XAMPP control panel.

2. Start the Apache server and MYSQL

3. Redirect all request to index.php

4. set to use theme require a file called php language.

5. Require php language and bootstrap.

6. Call php () function to setup.

7. Require the sublime text filed in php.

8. Set phpmyadmin database root directory.

7.2 Test Procedure:-

The project is undergone through following test procedures:

1. Unit testing
2. Integration testing
3. System testing
4. Regression testing

7.2.1 Unit testing:

The primary goal of unit testing is to take the smallest piece of testable software in the
application, isolate it from the reminder of the code, and determine whether it behave exactly as
you expect. Each unit is tested separately before integrating them into module to test the
interface between module. Unit testing has proven its value in hat a large percentage of defect
are identified during its use.
7.2.2 Integration testing:

Integration testing is a logical extension of unit testing. In its simplest form, two units that
have already been tested are combined into a component and the interface between them is
tested. A component, in these sense, refers to an integrated aggregated of more than one unit. In a
realistic scenario, many units are combine into the components, which are in turn aggregated into
even larger parts of the program. The idea is to test combinations of pieces and eventually
expand the process to test your modules with those of other groups. Eventually all the modules
making up a process are tested together.
Beyond that if the program is composed of more than one process they should be tested in pairs
rather than all at once.

7.2.3 System testing:-

System testing is black box testing performed by the test team and at the start of system testing
the complete system configured in a controlled environment. The purpose of system testing is to
validate an applications accuracy and completeness in performing the functions as designed.
System testing simulates real life scenarios that occur in a “simulated real life”
Test environment and test all functions of the system that are required in real life. System testing
is deemed complete when actual result and expected result are either in line or differences are
explainable or acceptable based on customer and student input.

7.2.4 Regression Testing:-

Any time you modify an implementation with in a program you should also do regression
testing. You can do so by running existing tested against the modified code to determine whether
the changes break anything the worked prior to the changes and by writing new tests where
necessary. Adequate coverage without wasting time try to spend as little time as possible doing
regression testing without reducing the probability that you will detect new failures in old
already tested code.
 CHAPTER 8

 CHAPTER 9

SYSTEM ANALYSIS

This article contains Cyber Café Management System SRS. SRS is Software
Requirement Specification, whenever any project started the first step is of planning then
requirement gathering, this requirement gathering is the phase for SRS. Stores are required for
the following purposes.

1. Capital works

2. Operation and Maintenances Works

3. Other Commercial activities like hiring equipment etc.

Economical Feasibility

As part of this, the costs and benefits associated with the proposed system are to be compared
and the project is economically feasible only if benefits outweigh costs. So it need not invest
newly for the internet connection and also the organization initiated to use Open Source in
project development, hence there is 0 additional cost incurred for the tools that will be used.

Operational Feasibility:

This test of feasibility checks if the system works with least difficulties when it is
developed and installed. The technical staff has sufficient knowledge of the tools being used and
the users need just to know how to access and run the programs in the Apache Web Sever. Hence
it is concluded that the system is operationally feasible.

<p>The tariff is for the room only and is exclusive of any government taxes
applicable Meals and other services are available at extra cost . To know your room tariff, please contact
the Duty Manager, guest registration forms must be signed on arrivals. </p>

<strong><h4 style = "color:#ff0000;">2. Settlement of Bills</h4></strong>
<p>Bills must be settled on presentation, personal cheques are not
accepted.</p>

<strong><h4 style = "color:#ff0000;">3. Company's Lien on Guest's Luggage
and Belongings</h4></strong>
<p>In the case of default in payment of dues by a guest, the management
shall have the linen on their luggage and belongings, and be entitled to detain the same and to sell or
auction such property at any time without reference to the guest. The net sale proceeds will be appropriate
towards the amount due by the guest without prejudice to the management's rights to adopt such further
recovery proceedings as my be required.</p>

<strong><h4 style = "color:#ff0000;">4. Check-in</h4></strong>
<p>Please present your ID card, Passport or Temporary Residence Card upon
Check-in. By Law visitors must present personal documents for hotel records. These documents will be
returned upon departure.</p>

<strong><h4 style = "color:#ff0000;">5. Departure</h4></strong>
<p>Check out time is ( mention your checkout time here ) please inform the
reception if you wish to retain your room beyond this time. Extension will be given depending on the
availability . If the room is available, normal tariff will be charged. On failure of the guest to vacate the
room on expiry or period the management shall have the right to remove the guest and his/her belongings
from the room occupied by the Guest.</p>

<strong><h4 style = "color:#ff0000;">6. Luggage Storage</h4></strong>
<p>Subject to availability of the storage space, the guest can store luggage in
the luggage room, at the guest's sole risk as to loss or damage from any cause, Luggage may not be stored
for period of over 30 days.</p>

<p>Mention your policy for Pets ( allowed or not- allowed ) (Allow us to
make separate arrangements. )</p>

<p>Bringing goods and / or storing of raw or exposed cinema films, or any
other article of a combustible or hazardous nature and / or prohibited goods and / or goods of objectionable

<p>The guest will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the hotel
property caused by themselves, their guests or any person for whom they are responsible.</p>

Rights</h4></strong>
<p>It is agreed that the guest will conduct him/ herself in a respectable
manner and will not cause any nuisance or annoyance within the hotel premise.</p>

Guest</h4></strong>
<p>Nothing herein above shall continue or be deemed to constitute, or create
any tenancy or sub-tenancy , or any other right to interact in the hotel premises or any part of portion
thereof, in favour of any Guest or resident or visitor, and the Management shall always be deemed to be in
full and absolute possession of the whole of the hotel premises.</p>

and application of laws</h4></strong>
