GENERAL
The effective management of plant information and assets is crucial for productivity and profitability
and the overall efficiency, productivity, and success of the plant may be largely determined by the
accuracy, quality, and integrity of plant information deliverables at the points of data handover. The
primary issues are how to implement handover while enabling the timely and accurate as-built data
deliverables needed to ensure smooth operations and maintenance of the plant.

1. DBIMP SCOPE
The scope of DBIMP application is to provide a common data repository for storing, accessing,
sharing, and managing the engineering data and documents of Company’s selected plants.

2. DATA MODEL
The DBIMP data model is not concerned with all the technical data of Eni E&P interest as made
available during the project development, but only with the most significant data related to the plant
facilities and components, as shown in the following structured list.

3. NAVIGATION BASIC FUNCTIONS

In the following paragraphs the basic functions are described to access the DBIMP application and
navigate into the contained data.
As general rule note that once selected an item among the listed ones, the available data possible to
navigate are viewed by clicking on the mouse right button.

3.1 HOW TO ACCESS DBIMP

DBIMP is published in the E&P T/S Portal, so users should login before in the Portal and then use
the specific link to launch DBIMP web client.
Please refer to Client Manager (IT Manager in affiliates) to ask the access to the E&P T/S portal.
Please contact DBIMP focal point (Headquarter ITEM department) in order to be profiled in the
DBIMP and to have access to the system.
DBIMP mailbox : [email protected]

3.1.1 Starting from MyEni

3.1.3 Launch DBIMP from E&P T/S Portal

Once entered in the portal, either directly or arriving from MyEni, go to the HQ Panel and click on the
DBIMP - Facility Database link on the right part of the screen as shown in the following picture.

The DBIMP can also be launched using the menu panel on the left side navigating trough:

3.3 HOW TO NAVIGATE IN THE FACILITY DATA

Once opened the interested Facility, the relevant data can be navigated both in a level by level tree
structure or through a definite search among the available data, as shown in the following
paragraphs.
The Facility details as well as the document Facility Overview may be viewed by clicking on the
mouse right button once selected the interested Facility.

3.4 TREE STRUCTURE NAVIGATION

Tree structure navigation is possible by clicking on the selected facility and opening the lower levels,
such as: Facility Functional Units Æ Equipments Æ Model Æ Sub-model Æ Manufacturer Æ Spare
parts

3.4.1 FFU

3.4.2 Equipments
From the selected FFU it is possible to see the contained equipments:

The details of each equipment can be viewed by selecting “Details” in the popup menu opened by
right mouse button:

3.5 NAVIGATION THROUGH PREDEFINED SEARCH

Besides the navigation in the tree structure levels also the search of previously loaded data is
possible in DBIMP by using the functions “Items and Find”. Here below is shown for instance the
search of Instruments:

Sh. 18 of 26

Query of specific loaded data may be executed also in DBIMP system, through the “Find Æ Eni E&P
Query” functions, as shown in the following window:
Eni S.p.A. 27902.DOC.GEN.MUT
Rev. 0 November 2006

4. VIEW DOCUMENT IN MYDOC

The plant key documents linked to the components the data of which are in DBIMP may be viewed
through an automated direct link to the MyDoc Document Mngt. System.
The function “Show Documents” is activated with the right mouse button as shown:

Then the linked documents are shown and they can be opened with the function “View Document in
MyDoc”:
