The NYSEG price for providing electricity supply during this billing period was $0.05982930/kwh which includes
a Merchant Function Charge of $0.0043/kwh. If you decide to shop for electricity supply, you can compare this
information with prices offered by energy services companies (ESCOs). You could achieve some tax savings if
you switch to an ESCO. Additionally, if the ESCO includes its charges on your NYSEG bill, you would not have
to pay NYSEG's bill issuance charge. If you buy electricity from an ESCO, NYSEG will continue to deliver the
electricity to you and you will continue to pay NYSEG for delivery, transition and basic service charges.
On September 1, the third of three annual electricity and natural gas delivery rate increases under the terms of
the 40-month rate plan approved by the Public Service Commission in September 2010 went into effect.
Customers may see some charges prorated on a September or October bill to take into account energy
delivered before and after the new electricity and natural gas delivery rates went into effect.
NYSEG's Energy Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to help eligible customers gain control of their energy
bills. If you are eligible for HEAP, you can also get the benefits of EAP. For more information, visit nyseg.com,
click on "Your Account" and then on "Energy Assistance: HEAP and EAP Can Help."
You can help those in need with the power of your dollars. Funded by NYSEG customers, employees and
shareholders Project SHARE helps eligible customers pay for energy emergencies. Please join NYSEG and the
American Red Cross in supporting the Project SHARE by enrolling in automatic giving. Contributions are tax
deductible. For more details, go to nyseg.com, click on "Giving Back" and then click on "In the Community," and
then on "Project SHARE."
