Department of Electrical Engineering

Pakistan Institute of Engineering & Applied Sciences
1.1 Abstract
 Purpose of Experiment: Learning about different lab equipment
 Observation: We observed how different devices work and how they will be used in our
experiments.
 Key Results: We saw that the DMM’s voltage value differed slightly from the dc source’s one.
 Major Points of Resources: We used digital multimeter and dc source and compared their voltage
values.

Background
 Breadboard: It is used to connect all relevant electrical components and power supplies.
 Lab Trainer: It is primarily employed in giving various types of inputs to our circuits.
 Digital Multi-meter: Gives measurements of current, voltage, resistance. Also used to test potential
short circuits.
 Oscilloscope: Displays a waveform of voltage-time graph
 DC Power Supply: Supplies power to our circuit.

1.3 Procedure (As Prescribed in the manual) (Observations are attached with the report)

1.4 Conclusion
In this program we learn the working functions of various lab equipment. We also learn how to use the
equipment more efficiently. Understand the working principle on which the equipment run.
