The Implementation of GWD (Group Writing Discussion) Method to Build
Writing Learning Enthusiasm for The Tenth Grade Students of SMAN 1 Mojo.
2. Background of The Study
a) Student difficulties in mastering writing skills
b) The purpose of applying the GWD (Group Writing Discussion) method in
overcoming students' learning problems in writing
c) The effect of GWD (Group Writing Discussion) method in increasing students'
enthusiasm for writing learning process
3. Research Questions
1) What is the function of GWD (Group Writing Discussion) method in English
writing learning process?
2) How can implementation of GWD (Group Writing Discussion) method will
increase student’s enthusiasm for English writing learning process?

5. Research Method
a) Research Design
This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) to build student’s
enthusiasm of writing teaching learning process in the classroom.
b) Research Instrument
The instrument in this research uses test and observation. It is used to
know the level of student’s writing skill and writing learning experiences in
the classroom.
c) Techniques of Collecting Data
- Make a writing skill test and observation sheet
- Distribute the test and observation sheet to students separately
- Collecting the results of the test answers and observation sheets
d) Techniques of Data Analysis
The data are analyzed based on the results of the student’s writing
skill test and the observation sheet based on the scoring rubric for writing.
