Creating Page Borders and Using Background Picture, Colors, and Fill

Effects in Microsoft Word

MODULE

INTRODUCTION
Give your document a professional look or an eye-catching design by framing it with
borders. Microsoft Word provides options for creating borders on pages, text boxes and
shapes. Page borders place a custom or pre-designed border around your document. You
can add, delete or modify them without rearranging your text.

Microsoft's Borders and Shading tool helps you create page borders in programs such
as Word. As well as regular border options, it also includes line and graphics styles that are a
little more elaborate, allowing you to create fancy borders rather than plain ones. To access
more design options, download free templates from Microsoft that come with decorative
borders. If you're looking to place a border in a specific type of document, such as an invitation,
report or newsletter, templates are particularly useful.

By the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

 Identify the different steps in applying page border, picture and adding
watermark in the document;
 Add a watermark on a document in the Microsoft Word;
 Create a document by applying Page Border and Picture Background.
