CLOSING REMARKS

Distinguished participants, Ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon!

Today, I am privileged and honored to speak on behalf of the participants in this

closing ceremony of our Virtual In-Service Training: Homeroom Guidance
Implementation.

Allow me to first convey special thanks and appreciation to all the committees,
most especially to our Homeroom Guidance Coordinator, Ma’am Marissa D. Batucan for
organizing and keeping things both under control and reasonably on time.

I would also like to thank the resource speakers from the first day until this last
session for their excellent thought-provoking talks.

Most importantly, my gratitude to all the teachers for your active participation
during these 3-Day InSet. Without your input, ideas and discussion, this training would
not have been the success it has.

I believe that during these three days, all of us have obtained a fruitful discussion.
Several important insights were learned through this training. First, rationale, history,
vision and mission, and curriculum framework of Homeroom Guidance. Second, the
importance of Mental Health which includes our emotional, psychological, and social
well-being. Such topic is quite relevant especially this time of pandemic for it affects
how we think, feel, and act. It also determines how we handle stress, relate to others,
and make healthy choices. Thus, mental health awareness is significant at every stage of
life. Third, we also learn the difference between career counselling, career guidance,
and career advising. Fourth, the importance of Homeroom Guidance had been
highlighted during yesterday’s discussion, wherein it equips learners with competencies
to address issues not included in the formal learning areas but is very essential to their
development. Lastly, during our session this morning, we tried to examine closely and
thoroughly the Homeroom Guidance Modules for each grade level, which made us
realized that these modules would help our learners adapt to the “new normal” brought
by this current crisis.

I will not anymore prolong my speech and let us just try to be an instrument in
our little way in using/applying all the valuable insights that we gained from this INSET,
in order not to put the efforts of our organizers to nowhere.

Once again, thank you so much and enjoy the rest of the day!
