Final Term Activity 5

According to Mishra & Koehler (2006), ―the simple incorporation of technology into the
educational process is not enough. Many approaches to the professional development of
teachers provide a one-size-fits-all approach to technology integration when, in reality,
teachers work as a potential teacher in a variety of teaching and learning contexts – facing
these challenges.

How can teachers incorporate technology into their instruction?


Teachers can adapt learning and improve their teaching techniques, enhancing their
productivity and efficiency as instructors through technology's fast access to information.
Integrating technology in the classroom refers to using different types of technology in the
classroom to enhance the student learning experience, such as a virtual classroom,
incorporating video and multimedia into lessons and presentations, digital content, and
integrating social media. This will result in learners who are actively engaged with learning
objectives and can provide exciting activities with the use of technology. Educators should
develop a means and strategies to effectively incorporate technology into learning to modify
it and make it more productive to meet the needs of individual students so that all children
can reach their full potential. When technology is properly blended into the classroom,
students not only become more engaged, but they also begin to take more control over their
own learning. Effective technology integration transforms the nature of the classroom,
promoting student-centered task learning.

What other matters or concerns should teachers look into and consider concerning the use and
integration of instructional media and technology?
Addressing the concerns of integrating technology in the classroom is a must, there must be a
well-prepared educator for the reality and changes of technology to the learners enable them
to deliver the learning process effectively. Above anything else there should be knowledge
and professional development a teacher must possess in online world, teachers should
manifest a safe online environment that there is no misuse of technology, students and
teachers must keep up with the changes upon integrating technology in the classroom.
Second, one of the concerns that teachers must look into is the financial capacity of the
students, the cost of technology is not preferable to all students that will result into shortage
of interaction in the classroom there will be limited accessibility the network connection and
more importantly the knowledge of students in terms of using technology. There are also
instances the motivation of both teacher and students due to lack of equipment and the
rapidly changing ways technology brings, by that integration of technology can bring
advancement and innovation in learning yet teachers should prepare and be more equip to its
considerations to make learning with technology a competent learning experience.
