Calculate the air conditioning loads of rooms 257, 258, 259, and 260 based on the
following:
1. Occupants.
2. Lightings.
3. Air Infiltration.
4. Heat Transmission through building walls.
5. Solar Radiation effect through building walls.
6. Other miscellaneous load.
The PLAN view and the Elevation views of the ME Department 2nd Floor buildingindicating the
dimensions of the walls, windows and doors (estimated values of dimensions are acceptable)
are provided. Tabulate the Air Conditioning Load and classify them according to sensible heat
loads and latent heat loads with its corresponding cooling load factor, CLF.

Solving for Unsunlit Computations
Assume standard classroom thickness of CIT’U
Concrete: 60 mm
Door: 40 mm
Window: 4 mm
Solving For Sunlit Computations:
[20] Using the Tables and formula for the Heat Transmission thru Sunlit Opaque Walls
Solving For Miscellaneous Loads:
qt = qs + ql
= 43 451.04 + 14 880.6
= 58 331.64
RSHF = qs / qt
= 43 451.04 / 58 331.64
= 0.7448965947

Design an air duct layout for proper distribution of an Airconditioned space of Design
Plate # 1 & # 2. Use Equal Friction Method in duct sizing of round and its equivalent
rectangular duct. Make necessary assumptions if needed. Tabulate the results like as shown
below (in English Unit or in Metric Unit):
Attach the plan view of the space with the proposed air duct layout. Show the Equal Friction Chart
and indicate the readings of Q, V, & D.
