10. Course overview:
The course tries -in general to explain the fundaments of design theories,and to teach
the students the main theories of design that used today in architectural design. It starts
with the general meaning of design as a concept of life in every part of daily life
requirements. Then, and step by step, leads the students through the parts of these
theories from the oldest one, reaching the most recent studies in theories of
architectural design.
This course will try to use and learn the new systems of design thinking in the world, in
order to give a good an wide view to the newest methods of design learning in the
world.
All these points will ensure the ability of the student in future work in the local and
international markets.

11. Course objective:


1- Understanding the meaning of design, as mental habits. And the ways that the
designer try to use an creative thinking.
2- Understanding aspect and powers that affect the design procedure in the field of
architectural design.
3- Enhancing the ability of the student in understanding the new systems of design
thinking in the world.
4- Helping the student to learn and understand the ways that may be used by
architects during their design process.
5- Enhancing the student ability to solve any design problem during their
architectural design.

12. Student's obligation


The student should attend all the lectures and take part in the debates and
discussion could happened in the class. And take part in the main two term
exams, and all daily quizzes. The students should prepare and submit all the
reports and papers which he/she will be asked for.

13. Forms of teaching

The lectures will be by using all the possible and available methods in the
class, such as: data show, white board, most of these references will be
submit to the students for free by the lecturer.

14. Assessment scheme:

Most of the annual degree will be assigned by the main two exams, (about 30
marks”14m for each”)
The rest of the 40 marks will be assigned by the daily activities of the
students.

15. Student learning outcome:

This course will help the student to understand a new comprehensive view
of design which helps him/her in increase his her abilities in architectural
design.
This course will help the students to have a new abilities in solving
architectural problems, by understanding aspect and powers that affect the
design procedure in the field of architectural design and by using the new
systems of design thinking methods.
The students will learn the meaning of design, as mental habits. And the
ways that the designer should use to ignite a creative thinking process.
