Course Title: Advance Statistics
No. of Units: 3
Course Description:
This course is designed for second year college students taking up Bachelor of Secondary
Education, Major in Mathematics. This course is a continuation of the basic statistics you have
learned from the previous semester. Hence, knowledge of the basic concepts of statistics is a pre-
requisite.
In this course, you will be introduced to inferential statistics and its application to education
statistics and research. Topics such as testing hypothesis, choosing appropriate statistical test for a
particular statistical situation will enable you to do independent treatment of research issues.

*Modules will be made available on the Google Classroom on specified date, to be downloaded by
the students.
** Synchronous Online will be facilitated by the instructor on specified dates using Google Meet
(For those students who have selected Online as a learning delivery mode.)
*** Video lessons will also be posted on Google classroom to facilitate asynchronous online/offline
learning.
Methods of Assessment:
Learning outcomes will be assessed using formative and summative assessment method.
1. Formative Assessment. Formative assessment are non-graded participative modes of
assessment. It is non-graded since your score will not be included in the computation of
your grade. On the other hand, it is participative because accomplish formative assessments
will give you a mark in PARTICIPATION (see Computation of Grade). There are two
formative assessment in every module/lesson. The first is the Module Pre-Assessment given
prior to discussion. It is usually presented as a Google Classroom Quiz Assignment. The
second are Activities that are within the module. These activities are self-evaluating,
meaning you will check if your answers are correct using the correction key at the end of
each module. But you must present a means of verification to your instructor. You must take
a picture of your solution and send it to your instructors FB Messenger.
2. Summative Assessment. Summative assessments are graded mode of assessment. This
means that your scores in these assessments will be included in the computation of your
grade. There are two types of summative assessment. The first one is the Module Post-Test.
These assessments are given after each module. It is usually presented as Google Classroom
Quiz Assignment. Points you have accumulated will be a part of your
QUIZZES/ASSIGNMENT grade (see Computation of Grades). The second form of summative
assessment are the term exams.
Requirements:
The student must have completed the following:
1. All quizzes and assignments submitted at the specified deadline.
2. Attended the class with at most 12 hours accumulated tardiness.
3. Took all the term exams with a passing mark. Remedial examination shall be given to
students who failed a term exam.
Computation of Grade
Each term in the semester shall have a weight of 0.25 and will comprise your final grade.
