Instructions: Give three reasons why the Kartilya ng Katipunan is important to the grand narrative of Philippine

history.
1. I believe that the Philippine constitution was influenced by the American constitution. However, I also
believe that the Philippine constitution was somehow based on Jacinto’s Book. The Kartilya ng
Katipunan. That’s why it is very significant for the Philippines’ grand narrative of our history. This
expounds why we have this kind of principles, ordinances and laws for the sake of our sovereignty.
2. The Kartilya ng Katipunan, the book of Jacinto. The proclaimed brain of Katipunan stands a very
important character of each Katipunan member who obeyed and fought for their objectives to be
accomplished. That’s why they were able to attain what was meant to be acquired. This screams
equality and righteousness.
3. Along with the history, the Kartilya ng Katipunan explains how the Katipunan organization was able
to gather such fine men that fought against Spaniards. If not for the standards written in the book of
Jacinto. There is a possibility of group disbanding and traitors mixed among those who seek freedom.
This book tells us how the Filipinos united and create the organization firm and strong despite strict
rules and principles.

Instructions: Give three reasons why the Acta de la Proclamacion de la Independencia del Pueblo Filipino is
important to the grand narrative of Philippine history.
1. Acta de la proclamation de la independencia del Pueblo Filpino or The Act of Declaration of the
Republic of the Philippines. This declaration is very important for those who have fought against
Spaniards. This is the evidence of their success.
2. This is proof that the Philippine Government officially declared the independence of the Philippines
against Spanish colonialization.
3. The resurrection of the lives of Filipinos started when the declaration has been announced.

Instructions: Give three reasons why political cartoons made by Filipinos during the American Era are
important to the grand narrative of Philippine history.
1. Filipinos at that era were classified based on their social position. Generally, there are more indios
than those who have a better standard of living. As a result, there are more Filipinos who do not know
how to read. The employment of cartoons was the only method of revolution that revolutionaries
considered at the time because spoken communication was hazardous and deadly. This would allow
Filipinos to see what is going on without having to read many articles.
2. Political cartoons have an important role in the context of political journalism. They provide a colorful
alternative to official news reporting, giving a welcome diversion from the increasingly grim political
conversation.
3. It demonstrates the strength of press freedom and provides convincing evidence of the impact of the
country's rapid liberalization. With that said, we can trace the origins of our contemporary political and
socio-economic difficulties.

Instructions: Give three reasons why President Corazon Aquino’s Speech before the U.S. Congress on
September 18, 1986, is important to the grand narrative of Philippine history.
1. The speech improved relations with other international communities. As part of her administration's
social legislative agenda, she advocated for agricultural and land reforms. It dealt with military
insurgencies as well as coup attempts. It provided the green light to multi-partyism, which promoted
the rule of law in the Philippines and surrounding areas. It boosted the region's overall feeling of
democracy.
2. It demonstrates the importance of women's contributions. Despite her husband's death, she provided
the Filipinos with a democratic alternative. Corazon voted in the 1984 election despite knowing it
would be manipulated and that there would be additional hazards. She was drafted to fight the
dictatorship with a million people's votes.
3. It demonstrated the efforts of other countries in assisting in the establishment of democracy in the
Philippines. Many politicians in the United States were instrumental in influencing the policy of the
Philippines. The United States loaned money to the country in order for it to develop. It was facilitated
by a conversation with President Reagan, which cemented the two nations' friendship.
