+ when it happened
In this society everyone must have at least one plan to do or complete in the future.
I also had a few plans, but one of them was changed by me. That was my plan to study for a week.
That was around the time when I was in college. At that time, I was quite reluctant to change the way I
study. The way of studying in university is very different from studying in high school.
Changing a plan is like changing a habit. Although it was difficult at first, but gradually got used to it and
learned more effectively.
I don't regret changing it at all, but I feel very happy. Because of that change, I gained more skills such as
logical thinking, a good memory when I went to university.
2/Talk about a holiday or a festival in Vietnam, your hometown, or in another country.
+ the typical food, music, or clothing in the holiday (or the festival)
In Vietnam, there is a fairly long holiday that usually starts in early February or maybe earlier. It is the
Lunar New Year holiday, one of the most important holidays of Vietnamese people.
As far as I know, this day is the day when family members meet again after hard working days for a year.
When talking about food these days, it is impossible not to mention banh tet, banh chung are
indispensable dishes in Tet although it is different in each region in Vietnam.
One of the important traditions, the children who show their respect by sending wishes to the elders
and they will receive red packets in return it is called "lucky". It is a taboo these days not to wear dark
colors like black, but to wear light colors like red.
I'm a lover of the holidays so there's no reason why I shouldn't like it.
3. Talk about your reading habits. You should include:
+ how your reading habits help you with your student life
I started my reading habit when I was in 12th grade. At that time I really needed the knowledge to
prepare for my final exam.
In the beginning, I only read books about knowledge of school subjects. But now, I have broadened the
subject of my reading than before I had been booked on economic and environmental topics, most
specifically a self-help book.
At the moment, I only read books for at least 30 minutes a day. That time is for me to bind myself so
that I become a planner.
I read books at first to gain knowledge but later I became a person who has a habit of reading books.
When I became a student, that habit helped me a lot in life such as: it helped me expand my knowledge
and practice some skills in the reading exam.
If possible, I would advise everyone to have at least one favorite author to read more effectively. My
favorite author is Donald Trump.
4. Talk about a (natural) disaster you know or hear of. You should include:
+ the type of the disaster
+ the place and the time the disaster happened
+ property damages and/or casualties
+ the supports which were given to the people living there
+ your sympathy/ reactions to the news
The kind of disaster I'm talking about is an earthquake disaster. Japan happened in 2011. Its
name is the Great Honshu Earthquake.
The damage occurred greatly including property and people. According to official statistics,
about 15,000 people have been killed and more than 2,500 are still missing and presumed
dead. More than 6,000 people were injured.
The Japanese government also asked the US military stationed in this country to support.
I feel the power of nature is terrible, unimaginable. I feel that the Japanese people, after the
disaster caused, have lived very resiliently there.
5. Talk about an emergency that you or someone had and that required dental or medical
attention. You should include:
+ where and when the emergency happened
+ what happened to you (or that person)
+ the symptoms that you (or that person) had
+ the dental or medical procedures or treatments you (or that person) had
+ your feelings about that emergency and what you learned from it
+ what you have learned about the ways to greet others, dining etiquettes, codes of photo taking,
clothing at a religious site in that country
+ what dos and don’ts you should notice when going there
One day last summer I went to Japan. Exactly the 15th, arrival is about 24 hours.
I am very excited about this trip. I prepared a lot of gifts for my friends in Japan and a lot of
things like clothes, enough food before starting the trip.
When eating, the Japanese must eat and drink everything that has been served. No leftovers
are allowed. In addition, when eating, you should not make a noise because doing so is
impolite.
As for taking pictures, don't take pictures of others without their permission.
When you arrive, you should prepare everything you need and follow the instructions of a local
guide.
7. Talk about a Vietnamese wedding that you have attended or heard of. You should
include:
+ where and when the wedding was
+ what preparation the couple with their families had
+ what they did at the wedding ceremony and the reception
+ the most interesting things in the wedding
+ what dos and don’ts guests should notice when attending a Vietnamese wedding
This is the wedding I was told it took place in a restaurant on a January day.
According to Vietnamese custom, the bride and groom are prepared by the husband's family to
get married. In addition, both sides of the family have to prepare gifts to give back to the
other's house.
They had to learn the ritual to bow properly during the wedding ceremony.
The most interesting thing about the wedding is that there are a lot of people dressed very well.
This place is also a gathering place for many families of both sides.
Guests at the wedding should not say unlucky things such as divorce, breakup, infertility. Those
things are considered normal in the west but not in Vietnam.
8. Talk about new technology. You should include:
+ what the item is
+ its brand-name
+ its features and functions
+ what you think about it
In my opinion, the breakthrough new technology is the smartphone. The cell phone was
invented by Martin Cooper and many people improved to have a smartphone.
My favorite smartphone is Samsung because it's a Korean product, I like it.
Once upon a time, the mobile phone was a breakthrough, but then the smartphone launched it
created a digital revolution.
Its most important thing is the ability to access the network anywhere, anytime, to search for
information or know everything happening in the world.
Thanks to Martin Cooper inventing the cell phone, we now have smartphones to use. Now it
become one of the inseparable items that everyone must-have.
9. Talk about the pros and cons of permitting people to say or write anything on social
networking sites.
You should include:
+ what you think about it
+ pros and cons of this issue
+ specific examples of why you think it is good or bad (if any)
+ the solutions for this controversial issue
Most of the causes of global warming are man-made: the greenhouse effect, burning fossil fuels
all produce carbon dioxide, which then forms the greenhouse effect.
The harmful effects of the cause are very dangerous such as: causing drought, polluted air, lack
of food.
For example, if the ambient temperature is too high, it will make it difficult for the land in food
shortages and drought.
The solution is people's awareness to jointly preserve and protect the environment such as
Planting trees, Limiting the use of plastic bags.
If I were selected, I would choose to plant trees because I am a plant lover and would love to
have a green environment.
