CRANKING TEST PROCEDURE

1. Turn the selector switch from trickle to boost on AMF Board, 2 hours before conducting the cranking test.

AMF Board Battery Charger Selector switch. (TURN BOOST)

2. To perform a cranking test, press the genset controller to stop button and turn on the MCB.
The genset will automatically crank for 15 seconds and then rest for 5 seconds for six cycles.

Genset controller( STOP) cranking relay & MCB (ON)

3. Upon completion of the cranking, Switch off the MCB and start the generator by pressing the start button on the
genset controller.

MCB (OFF) Genset controller (START)

4. To shut down the generator, press the Auto button and then switch the AMF board's selection switch from boost to
trickle for normalize.

tighten mounting bolts

Check Engine for Exhaust, Fuel, Lube, and coolant leakage

Any abnormal alarm from the generator control panel

Run generator set (under load) to check voltage, check frequency, check
instrument system and make adjustments.

Inspect safety shutdown devices. This includes simulated faults on Low Oil
Pressure Shutdown, High Water Temperature Shutdown, Over Speed
Shutdown and Emergency Stop Shutdown.
