CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction:
With the increase in the number of vehicles on the road, the task of
traffic management becomes more complex. It is hard to keep maintain the
details of each vehicle, which is running on the road. Also in case of hit &
and-run or carrying of illegal goods over inter-state cross boarder or road-
robbery cases, the police may not trace the culprits very easily, as the
vehicle details are not monitored continuously. This system is intended to
help the RTO, police Department, public Transport and cargo companies to
track the vehicles.
Toll Booths are usually considered an inconvenience by travelers not only
for the cost of the toll but also for the delays at toll booths, toll roads, and
bridges. To ensure a steady flow of traffic, both staff and drivers require
easy access to an efficient communication system covering the specific
requirements of toll Booths. In this way, hitches can be resolved while
maintaining a convenient toll booth system. Security systems can also be
added, which will further enhance the system.
1.2 Existing System and Need for System :
PIBM
In the existing system all the works are done manually.
In this existing system we should make separate books for each field like
Vehicles, Staff details, Toll details.
We have to maintain the vehicle details and their tolls manually.
The payment process is manually.
1. Drawbacks of existing system :
• It is time consuming process.
• The toll process done manually, so the amount of tolls may be
wrong.
• It is difficult to handle multiple vehicles.
• There are many registers be maintained.
2. Need of System :
• For faster toll generation.
• Need data of toll and vehicle in well formatted.
• Daily report and weekly report generated properly.
PIBM
1.3 Limitations of existing system:
1. Existing system may become obsolete as in computer industry,
technological developments are very fast, new software , new utilities may
obsolete this system.
2. System security is password dependent ,if secrecy of password
information is not maintained system could be in great danger.
3. System requires electricity to function ,absence may result in chaotic
situation in the organizational procedure

CHAPTER 2: PROPOSED SYSTEM
2.1 Problem statement/s:
It is time consuming process.
The toll process done manually, so the number of tolls may be wrong.
It is difficult to handle multiple vehicles.
There are many registers be maintained.
2.2 Objectives of proposed system:
The main objective of this project is automation of Toll Booth System. Because
the existing system is very problematic as it involves the data storage i.e.,
keeping the records of all the Vehicles, Tolls and Staff manually. Also
maintaining the billing record through files and books. We can imagine that as
the information storage is there, it requires the various data stores which may be
registers or diaries to note the respective details. And from these data stores the
retrieval of required information is also difficult as we have to search all the
record until we do not get the desired information. So, to avoid all these
problems this project is required.
2.3 Scope of the system:
It can be used for maintaining the details of –
Tolls
PIBM
Vehicles
Employee Details
The proposed system is a use the computers for it’s all the operations i.e., for
information storage, retrieval, updating, etc. The main difference in older and
newer system is as computers are being used all the working is faster and
accurate. It also avoids the data redundancy. There is no question of changing
of data stores, so it is also easy to maintain the data for longer period of time.
As computer does all the calculations the report generation is automatic for
each day or total days hence reducing possibilities of errors in the calculation of
tolls, reports and vehicles.
2.4 Functionality of Modules:
This project is related with the computerized management of Toll Booth System
which has only two level -
Administrator Level- System Operator.
Employee Level- Employee Operator.

CHAPTER 4: USER MANUAL
4.1 User Manual
1. First click on the link and access the Website.
2. Click on Employee login and Enter the username and password.
3. Click on the Generate Toll
4. Now fill the Toll Generation details.
5. Generate the toll and print the Receipt
5.DRAWBACKS AND LIMITATIONS:
The sole limitation of this system is it should be always connected to internet
and electricity.
6.Proposed Enhancements:
The system can be run in all Devices. In future we can add a feature to
automatically Collect toll by the system itself.
7.Conclusion:
The Toll Booth System is very useful to handle toll plaza. Usually toll plaza
have higher visitors and due to this traffic caused. When we implement this
software at toll plaza it is beneficial for both vehicle owners and toll plaza
employees. By using this software, we can generate tolls accurately and rapidly.
Therefore, no more problem of waiting time at toll plaza and vehicles can reach
at their destination at time and also traffic received.
