Section 0: Introduction
Scenario
ABC Ltd, a company based in London, sells electrical products online through their website.
Adding distribution centers in Manchester and Edinburgh to its London headquarters warehouse
is part of the company's plan to develop. Other overseas markets such as Asia, Africa, and the
United States are also being considered by the company. All EU states will be included in the
company's plans to increase its online sales in 2019. They hired an Information Systems (IS)
professional who advises Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) on their IT needs.
Globalization has resulted in a higher level of competitiveness among companies. Globalization
problems must be examined through the perspective of social networking to achieve this goal.
Digital skills are important for organizations, but they also offer considerable benefits to people.
Determining the competitive advantages and other SME methods will allow you to develop
social networking strategies (Fatimah, et al., 2020).

Profile of ABC ltd

Nowadays, the firm sells gadgets in London, but it has plans to extend to other locations.
Better IT management is needed to do this, as the data must be protected for the organization to
move towards digitalization. While security issues may arise as a result of the transition to
digitalization, if the management handles them correctly, they may be mitigated. For this aim,
the firm has installed monitoring software to keep track of the data. In addition, developing the
firm involves thorough market research. As a result, they engaged independent consultants to
help them improve their IT systems to grow their company operations. As a result, it's possible to
increase the company's marketing, social networking, and consumer attention in different
locations (Luo, et al., 2019).

Selected case study: BMW

As part of Corporate Strategy and Consultancy, BMW teams monitor trends and analyze the
changing global and business landscape in which we operate to build strategies that keep us at
the cutting edge of the company and future mobility, respectively. When faced with this
problem, BMW advises its employees in many departments on how to maximize individual
potential and develop innovative strategies that will assure and sustain a pioneering leader in the
automotive sector. To continue making sound strategic decisions, we're continuously on the
lookout for fresh ideas and creative thinkers with great analytical abilities and an instinctive eye
for seeing future trends. This may be the catalyst that helps us define not only the future paths of
the business but also the world of mobility itself through your thought leadership. Thanks to the
deep expertise of the Google Cloud Platform, they specialize in database and CMS-driven online
applications, mobile apps, and new technologies (Kukkamalla, et al., 2020). By interviewing
project managers, may help ABC ltd expand its business and develop techniques for selling
electrical products online.

Section 1: Strategic Management Principles

For a successful company plan, a robust communication platform is essential. So that they may
enhance their operations, the stakeholders can learn more about business strategy. It also aids in
determining trends and plans as well as mitigating the problems, which ultimately aids in
attaining development and progress (Conforto, 2016). It includes the following components:

 Vision and mission

 Strategic Analysis
 Develop objectives
 Formulation of strategies
 Strategy Implementation
 Performance evaluation
The key part of Identify Branding is expressing the organization's goal and vision. To
fulfill its goals, a firm must have a clear vision and purpose. The mission and goal of ABC ltd
are to grow online sales of electrical items and develop into Manchester, Edinburgh, and many
African locations. As well as identifying the macro and microenvironment of a firm, strategic
analysis is also useful. As a result of this, PESTEL is utilized. Moreover, targets should be
defined based on the analysis and the financial plan. It's important to examine a plan that
includes money, budgeting, and recruiting to achieve the desired results after defining goals. As
a final step, the implementation of a strategy requires a detailed plan with clear goals and
timeframes.

PESTLE Analysis

Political Factors: Selling electrical products online was a smart move for ABC Limited. A key
worry of globalization is that social networking makes it harder to join new markets when
current vendors are powerful. Selling the items online in multiple areas is advisable in this
situation.

Economic Factors: Due to the company's scale, it may be difficult to penetrate new markets in
the United Kingdom. That's why good research and budgeting are crucial. Online selling or
digitalization, on the other hand, enables ABC ltd to accomplish expansion and growth Another
consultancy firm might help BMW enhance its marketing in new areas.

Social Factors: During this epidemic, companies favor digitization as a precaution, and rigorous
government laws must be enacted to decrease the workforce. A stronger image and reputation in
new markets may be achieved through digitization, much as BMW has done by offering online
consulting to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).

Technological Factors: The firm should look towards technologically sophisticated techniques,
such as digitization. Knowing sophisticated social networking techniques is crucial for breaking
into new markets. Consultancy startups can also explore using new technologies such as online
consulting to safeguard their budget.

Legal Factors: Companies must adopt a CS strategy in which they must adhere to the norms and
regulations of new markets, which is crucial for their success. Companies that fail to implement
EU market policies may suffer serious penalties.
Environmental Factors: No environmental impact on the firm other than seasonal and weather-
related commercial concerns.

Strategic Leadership Approach

By keeping employees motivated and focused on their goals, it is possible to modernize a
business. In other words, strategic leadership is the execution of a company's plan. To ensure that
organizational transformation occurs and is sustained, leaders are essential. ABC ltd wanted to
expand its operations, so they hired a freelance consultant to help them improve their IT
infrastructure (Tarigan, et al., 2019). A technical environment in which information management
is carried out must be improved for it to be successful. To develop budgets and communicate
with consultants, human resource management must be included in this process.

Section 2: Information Systems Types

Information Systems Types
 An application that performs business transactions is the Transaction Processing
System (TPS). As a result of this operation, records can be updated.
 By providing users with data, models, and information, the Decision Support System
(DSS) aids users in making decisions in quasi- and unexpected circumstances.
 Management Information System: Consultants from ABC Limited are interviewing
BMW to evaluate management information using this technique. To enhance
decision-making, it is necessary to get data that can be used to assess competitor's
analyses to improve business operations.
 Executive Support systems: These systems are similar to decision support systems,
but only leaders or owners may use them to optimize choices before they are put into
action (Shao, 2019).

Suitable typology
Business intelligence (BI) provides a comprehensive perspective of a firm. Management
information systems (MIS) help to increase an organization's operational productivity.
Enhancing current products' value and enhancing product development as well as supporting
management in making better decisions are all advantages. If ABC Tech wants to enhance their
IT management and expand their business operations, they need to conduct extensive market
research on new markets. Management information systems would be the best choice, in this
case, to help them acquire knowledge about new markets and make choices.
Description of the organization IS functions
ABC ltd utilizes a DSS because it needs all of the information and data to make decisions and
forecast the future. Analytical and modeling abilities are also helpful.

Section 3: Managing IT projects

Overview of Core IT Project practices
 Installing new hardware and updating the networks
 Merging various databases
 Removing obsolete servers
 Implementing virtual machine
 Implementing cloud computing or business intelligence services

Project Management Plan

As part of its analysis of BMW's strategic management, Abc ltd conducted interviews
with the company. Answers to questions and recommendations from the interviewees enable
them to complete their responsibilities, which is the growth of ABC ltd to the European market.

Section 4: System Development Models

Appropriate systems development models
 Waterfall,
 Prototyping
 Lean
 Iterative
 DevOps
 Agile

The most appropriate model for ABC ltd and its implementation

Agile
When compared to a waterfall strategy, agile is the reverse. As opposed to major sequential
phases such as requirements gathering, design, and testing, an agile approach treats them all as
ongoing processes requiring the engagement of developers, management, and customers alike

Working in 2-4 week "sprints" allows responsible teams to focus on their customers' most
pressing issues while also testing as they go. Agile tends to perform effectively in small
companies, especially startups, where speed and flexibility are crucial. A flexible project plan is
executed by creating small sections of a project at the same time. An entire team of designers and
product managers may now work together to build solutions that will benefit all parties involved
in the project (Fatimah, et al., 2020).

Section: 5 Digital Business Models

Overview of suitable digital models
The term digital business model refers to a strategy or idea for implementing a firm's operations
following the market's demands. When it comes to diverse business models, finding one that
works for a particular organization is key.

Suitable model for ABC ltd

Innovating eCommerce firms have revolutionized the way we buy today and redefined what is
possible in the digital world. Online sales are expected to account for 14 percent of all purchases
in the U.S. by 2021, according to predictions by industry experts On the contrary, pure E-
Commerce tactics are built on a one-sided sales strategy. Customers are being sold shares in the
firm. Thus, the E-Commerce Model was born. This model is suitable for firms that sell electronic
products such as machines and telephones. To fulfill the model's profit requirements, ABC Ltd.
must produce unique and complex electrical products (Kappelman, et al., 2019).

Model implementation and its impact on the ABC ltd

B2C companies sell directly to their customers. B2C is the most popular business model,
therefore there are a lot of different ways to do it. When it comes to business-to-consumer (B2C)
purchases, the decision-making process is significantly shorter than when it comes to B2B
purchases, especially for products of lesser value. B2C entrepreneurs have taken use of
technologies such as mobile applications, native advertising, and retargeting to promote directly
to their consumers and make their lives simpler (Legner, et al., 2017).

Section 6: Business Information System

Overview
Businesses may enhance their operations by using information and data provided by business
information systems (BIS). A lot of information comes from rivals or researchers who have
already applied it. Additionally, incorporating hardware, software, and other data allows the
company to increase its management capabilities.

CRM: For ABC Limited, customer relationship management (CRM) solutions were developed
in response to a need to improve the productivity of the sales department. For example, ABC ltd
learns more about its customers' needs and buying habits using CRM services such as sales
opportunity management and then combines that information with market data to enhance its
sales forecasting.

SCM: People, activities, equipment, data as well as other resources are grouped in a supply
chain to create or convey a product from one supplier to another vendor. Management of the
supply chain activities to provide ABC Ltd a strategic advantage is known as Supply Chain
Management (SCM) (Tarigan, et al., 2019).

ERP: Purchasing, finance, human capital, and inventory control are just a few of the software
programs that are connected to the ERP system at ABC Ltd. Software modules such as
purchasing and quality assurance interact and share data in an ERP system. There are several
applications in each module that work together to accomplish the end-to-end business activities
for each module. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software assists with a variety of
operational and administrative tasks (Luo, et al., 2019).

Infrastructure and resources

Five variables make up the five-component framework, which consists of the five key
advantages of an information system. To get the system up and running, first need the necessary
components. Then, to run the devices, the company needs to make use of the appropriate
software (Al Shobaki, 2016). To save the data accurately in the system, protocols must be put in
place, and personnel must be hired to input the data and keep the system operational at all times.
Each component is required to construct a completely functional functioning information system.

Section 7: Globalization Issues

London-based medium-sized firm ABC ltd sells electrical products. The company had engaged a
freelance consultant to assist them to find new markets. Moreover, due to the government's
objective of lowering the number of employees at work to transition into digitalization, As a
result, they began selling electrical items on the internet. The trend of networking and selling
things online, however, must be adopted by them. At the moment, they aren't receiving many
high-profit customers. According to this, the firm has a low level of readiness to join the global
market, but it has the potential to do so due to its profile showing profitability and potential
(Singh & Kumar, 2020).

Infrastructure Maturity for globalization

To evaluate market trends, a firm needs to have a dedicated staff that can supply them
with relevant information and data. As a medium-sized firm, ABC Ltd. must have individuals on
staff who can give them strategic methods and data to expand into new areas. Because they had
contemplated hiring freelancers, their management must be strong. There are also a lot of rivals
in the EU market. This results in a loss of revenue for the firm. It's important to have a solid
infrastructure, especially in terms of strategic approaches and communication methods. Other
than that, they should focus on communication and marketing to extend their activities.

Organization’s adaptation for globalization

This organization should develop its digitalization, including social networking, engagement,
and marketing, as well as build a solid profile to compete with existing suppliers in the EU
market

Section 8: Networking Issues

Organization’s presence in social networks and media
Many firms with the same name and in various industries were found by Googling the keyword
that is the company's name. The firm that sells electrical items online, on the other hand, was
nowhere to be seen. Because ABC Limited Company has a limited media presence in the EU,
they face many difficulties in the market. Improvements in manufacturing efficiency through the
use of the Internet of Business.

Use of the Internet for business purposes

A company's media site.

 Social media.
 Management of Customer Relationships.
 Workforce Productivity Enhancement.
 Video conferencing.
 Research into the market.
Organization’s Practices for IR.4.0
IR.40 refers to interconnectivity and the adoption of automation to replace manual labor.
Businesses become more flexible and agile thanks to this new technology. With IR.40, a
company may deploy new equipment fast in response to client demand at a reasonable price. As
a result, the firm has to undergo a digital transformation. To increase their media presence, they
need to provide interesting material on social media platforms (Abu-Naser, 2016).

Section 9: Overview of agile approaches in the deployment of MIS

Overview
Agile development is an alternative methodology to traditional project management that
promotes adaptive planning, evolutionary development, early delivery, continuous improvement,
and encourages rapid and flexible response to change. Moreover, in digitalization, agile
approaches help to improve the management information system (Sjödin, et al., 2020).

Operational plan for transforming current practices

improving social
netwroking

Implementing MIS

Rechecking and testing

Feedback from the

internal department

Selling products online

Key performance indicators for the agile MIS approach

The strategy calls for a news conference every two weeks. For the sake of being able to monitor
the development of the project, analyze its effectiveness, and plan the next steps to complete its
international online project. Since everyone in the company is constantly informed, there's less
risk of missing a deadline or failing to fulfill an objective (Abeysiriwardana & Jayasinghe-
Mudalige, 2021).
Section 10: Impact of Information Systems on Society
Reflection on the ethical impact of the organization’s operations.
ABC ltd must adhere to five key principles when it comes to data use: Beneficial, Innovative,
Sustainable, Ethical, and Fair ABC ltd must sustainably protect data. To be effective, it should be
maintained with the individual employee's current situation (Rainer, et al., 2020).

ABC ltd Security

To collect data from consumers, ABC Limited uses cookies. This information resides on a
customer's device in the form of "cookies." To personalize the purchasing experience for its
consumers, ABC ltd gathers cookies. This is estimated by looking at what consumers buy, what
they have stored in their cart, and where they tend to spend the most time browsing for products.
As a result, they can directly target and fulfill the customer's interests, as well as concentrate on
them. The ABC ltd app allows users to take control of their buying. Additionally, ABC Limited
gathers data such as address and date of birth using this kind of data collection as well. ABC ltd
must guarantee that no one may access these personal client accounts, as shown in the diagram
below. Accounts may be protected by putting passwords in place and installing security
equipment. Shoppers and staff alike must feel comfortable when buying and working.

Section 11: Intelligence and MIS

In business intelligence, businesses use data-driven information to increase staff productivity.
Aside from that, it aids managers or leaders in making suitable judgments based on correct facts
and statistics. ABC ltd is still in its infancy when it comes to integrating business analytics into
its operations. But their engagement of experts to enhance IT administration helps them gather
knowledge to execute. Finally, it may take a few months for the firm to fully integrate BI into its
processes. Software and services are used to turn data into actionable insights that guide a
company's business decisions. It will help to boost ABC Ltd's sales and earnings by stocking
items that customers are currently looking for. In addition, ABC Limited's track record will
allow them to decide where their money is being spent most efficiently.

Artificial Intelligence Application

It makes sense for the firm to employ AI in E-commerce to help them grow their business
through digitization. In that situation, AI-powered assistants aid to improve customer experience
and support them in acquiring relevant products they are seeking for. Use of artificial
intelligence (AI) fraud prevention may also be used to prevent fraud in online financial
transactions. If the firm does not consider cloud computing, Cyber-Physical Stream software to
safeguard their data, then AI might be abused. So they can not only avoid fraud but also enhance
the monitoring (Viejo, et al., 2020).

Section 12: Conclusion

This study seeks to give suggestions for a firm that needs to enhance its collaboration, social
media, and marketing and information systems. The interview with BMW's strategic
management was done as a way to make those decisions more solid. When it comes to
information systems and their administration, this firm assists researchers. Business intelligence
(BI) and business principles were well understood by startup members. Company ABC ltd wants
to grow its business in the European Union. This was achieved through discussions, as well as
the analysis of relevant models and systems.
