Class Participation Rubric Guide

The rubric assesses students on 6 criteria on a scale of 1 to 4 points: level of engagement, listening/questioning skills, behavior, preparation, problem solving, and group work/teamwork. For each criterion, it describes the skills and contributions expected for point levels of 4, 3, 2, and 1. For example, a student would earn 4 points for level of engagement if they proactively contribute ideas to class more than once per class.
