Society has departed considerably from what was a "normal" life for us.
The 2019 coronavirus
disease, also known by its acronym "COVID19," has transformed normalcy for many of us. We are
all affected by the pandemic, but for parents, teachers, students and workers it can be even more
complicated. In our time in this pandemic, we learned new terms like "social distancing," "self-
isolation," to refer to ways to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Schools have closed in many
regions, with the childcare complications that this poses for many, and homeschooling is
becoming the norm. Some people may have to adjust to other work patterns or may not be able to
work.
It is clear that the pandemic has affected our lives. We have learned to live in a different way,
adapting our needs to the multiple restrictions and recommendations. Some unfortunately out of
obligation.
So in these 2 years living with the sars-covid-19 virus we have learned several things, in my opinion
I list what would be the main things we have learned in these 2 long years, as well as good things
and not so good.
1. The community is organized in new settings
As governments around the world banned public gatherings and restricted travel to curb the virus,
religious leaders and dialogue experts turned to creative methods to maintain a sense of
community.
2. Deployment of humanitarian aid
As the virus leveled economies and exacerbated the divide between rich and poor, religious
communities also became providers of humanitarian aid.
3. Moral authority counteracts mistrust
Amid misinformation and growing mistrust, communities turned to religious leaders for reliable
sources of information.
4. Adverisdad divides us
As the pandemic progressed, hate speech against religious and ethnic communities throughout
the world broke out, fueling violence against minorities and refugees.
